Davey gave me his cold, which decided it had to run right to my chest. Blech. Sucks. Work sucked too; our entire system crashed just before 6. We still had eight fricking orders to pick that had to be shipped out tonight (plus mor on the line). IT goes home at 4:30 (which makes no sense) and, long story short, when the system finally came back up it was 7:15. UPS and DHL and FedEx Air had all already come and gone. So, Toby (supervisor's supervisor) made an arrangement that he'd bring the mustships to the respective shippers. And then we all had to bust tail to get the damn things picked and shipped, with him standing there watching the whole time, which is nerve-wracking.

Got upsetting news today. A friend of mine's one-month-old died last night. I'm not sure what happened. What bothers me (which is probably petty in the scheme of things) is that no one wanted to come right out and tell me; they were all talking about it around me in whispers. It's one thing for my brothers or family or whatever to treat me like I'm fragile (even though I'm not) b/c I know they mean well, but from other people it feels wrong to me. I dunno, I know I'm not explaining it well, but I don't like it.

I'm tired, I can't breathe, and I have inbox full of comments that aren't getting answered right now. Oh, and I still can't find the phone. I mean, you'd think there's only so many places it could be...

I'm gonna go watch a movie with the heathens. Might be on later. Why doesn't someone cheer me up with pics or fic recs (preferably crack, b/c that's what I'm in the mood for) or telling me what is happening GOOD in your life?

I've been at the District Jazz festival for the last three days, so it took me a bit, but here you go. :)

Euphemism: Prince Everhard of the Netherlands
Summary: The Half-Blood Prince has quite a thing for one boy hero.
Notes: This has Half-Blood Prince spoilers!

Harry Potter stared at the Half-Blood Prince.

"You can't be serious?" he gasped, feeling his face heat up.

"What makes you think that I'm not serious?" said Snape, smirking slightly.

"You're--you're so much older than me, and you're a professor," Harry choked out.

"Maybe younger men are the most intriguing," said Snape, watching Harry closely.

Harry almost choked. Snape, find him, the Boy-Who-Lived, intriguing? This had to be some sick joke. Maybe it was really April Fools and he didn't know it. Or maybe the entire world had gone insane since he'd killed Voldemort. Something, anything to explain Snape's interest in him.

"Cat got your tongue, Potter?"

Harry turned back to Snape, a hot retort on his tongue, but was distracted when he looked down and saw Snape's pants tented in a way that left nothing to the imagination.

Snape seemed completely un-Snapelike as he moved over to Harry and whispered, "See something you like?"

Harry shivered despite himself as he forced his eyes to remain upward, staring directly into Snape's black eyes.

"I may be a Prince, but I bet yours is Prince Everhard of the Netherlands," Snape breathed into his ear.

Harry gasped as his knees nearly gave out on him. Snape wrapped his arms around Harry's chest and turned Harry to face him. Without giving Harry time to catch his breath, Snape captured his mouth in a warm and sensuous kiss.

It wasn't anything like Harry had expected. He felt his own arousal growing as Snape gently pushed him to the floor.

He found himself a willing participant as Snape's hands roamed over his chest, rubbing and kneading as Snape's lips remained connected with his own.

His hips bucked upward, almost on their own, as Snape’s hands ventured down to the zipper of his pants.

“Do you want this?” Snape whispered, his hands pausing over Harry’s growing erection.

“Yes,” said Harry, his hands coming up to reciprocate for Snape.

Snape batted his hands away and quickly undid Harry’s jeans. He pulled them and Harry’s boxers off together, as though he couldn’t wait a moment more.

Harry reached once more for Snape’s clothing, but Snape stood back up and made quick work of removing his own clothes before laying back down with Harry, fully naked, leaving Harry to eye every bit of him.

"I don't suppose you've ever been with a man before?"

Harry shook his head no.

Snape's eyes were glittering, as though he would enjoy being Harry's first.

Harry quickly dismissed that notion, as Snape moved down to take Harry's 'Prince' into his mouth. Heat flooded his body as Snape expertly took matters into his own hands--or mouth, really. But his hands did come into play, leaving none of Harry's 'Netherlands' untouched by Snape. It wasn't long before Harry was coming hard into Snape's mouth, which sucked him dry.

"Potter, you certainly are my Prince," Snape breathed before pouncing on Harry's lips again.

I wouldn't sleep with any of 'em, but Viggo and Eric Bana aren't on your list and I don't watch TV so I don't know any of the others, except Sawyer of course who goes in the category with Vig and Banabanana (the category naturally being men that I would consider if YD died before me).

You are strong, luv, stronger than most people I know. It doesn't keep us all from wanting to protect your heart, and our hearts in the process. I'm sorry to hear your friend's bad news, and I know somehow someway you will be a very valuable asset to her in the time that is coming. Thank you for that. I don't know what else to say. It means something when certain people want to protect me, but the ones that were not telling me aren't even really friends of mine, they're coworkers, and they just think I'm gonna freak out over it. Which, okay, I got a bit freaky when Brian died back in October, but that was different on several levels. Everyone knows about Kelly Marie, b/c I don't hide her, but this is an example of why I wonder if it's the right thing to do b/c knowing makes other people act weird, know what I mean?

My two month old daughter (my first child) died. So a lot of people in my life act weird towards me. Plus I did kinda get a little crazy when my friend Brian died back in the fall, but like I told alliwantisanelf, that was different.

Christ, that's awful. How did you manage to get through it? That would kill me, if one of mine died. *extra hugs* I do sort of get the "get a little crazy" bit though -- a friend of mine died when I was 19, and I went mental over it. But yeah, it's ... different.

Re sick kiddies: so far, so good. Everyone (knock on wood!) healthy today. Both Em & Maddy were back at school yesterday, and no one ate toast or jello for supper yesterday! Woohoo! And then last night, they all slept beautifully, which means so did I!

It's very hard, sometimes harder than others. But I do have the boys now, which helps a little bit b/c they're my world. And I have a great family and a few really great friends. My stepsister/best friend died when I was 17. I was 19 when I had and lost Kelly Marie. Brian, my friend that died in the fall, was only 22. He's a couple years younger than me, but we've known each other since he was in kindergarten. Plus, his best friend used to be a really close friend of mine, and that made it worse for me, b/c Mikey was so upset and I hate for anyone to have to go through that. Plus seeing his mom & his sister. It was hard & yeah, I did go a bit crazy then. But this is different for several reasons.

Sick kiddies: Good! *knocks on wood with ya* Yay for school and sleep! I'm so glad they're feeling better; it sucks when the kiddos are sick. Plus, now Mom is less stressed! And Den too, I'm sure.

Sam & Dean are brothers. A demon killed their mom when they were kids (sam was a baby, dean was like 4) and their dad has been hunting the demon ever since & killing whatever evil supernatural things he comes across along the way. So that's what the boys were raised to do. Only, Sam went off to college so it's been Dean and Dad hunting. And Dad goes missing. That's where the series starts; Dean gets Sam from college b/c their Dad is missing and the two of them go on a hunt; when they get back, Sam's girlfriend is killed by the same demon that killed their mom. So they're hunting evil things, determined to find this demon, and looking for their dad. It's kinda cool b/c several of the episodes / what they hunt are based on urban legends. Not gay -- unless you believe the huge group of fangirls that insist they are. And I just typed (three times) "that incest they are". Yeah, anyways, it's pretty cool; comes on WB on Thursday night so you should catch it if you get a chance, or let me know and I'll send you the first episode. It's not really scary, b/c IIRC you don't really like scary, right?

It _is_ a good book though, I haven't had so much fun reading a book ever since Yann Martel's The Life of Pi :-D
It's slow going because I kept going back to the beginning and read out loud choice quotes to unwilling victims innocent bystanders.

Yep, I don't like scary, but love supernatural stuff. So demons etc. are okay as long as the point is not to scare me off of my socks.

Still no TV lol. I have a TV turner but haven't figured out how to work it properly yet :-P

Matthew Fox as Charlie on Party of Five won my heart, but Jack -- honestly, for as much as I love LOST, I really dislike most of the characters most of the time. *g*
