I can't do html on my phone b/c it's too difficult to get to the little bracket thingys. Stupid phone.

Anyway, a few of us on twitter were talking about bandom big bang. I'm not participating, and I don't really read or write bandom any more. Haven't for a while. But I would still love to read the fic asimplechord was gonna write for bbb a few years back, even if I know she's never gonna finish it.

This made me think of the epic stories I have unfinished. They'll probably stay unfinished. But it's like there's one from each of the fandoms I was big into. For HP, it's the not-dead!Cedric story. For SPN, it's the epic Dresden Files crossover. For bandom, it's the hs au / ss teacher fic. All three of these are still on my laptop, and I still want to finish them one day even though I know it'll probably never happen.

Anyone else have this problem?

It's not that I don't want to write. It's just that that particular fic (that's the Gabe-related one, right?) is so far removed from current canon, although a alot of the individual items in the timeline were totally canon-based at the time I conceived it, that I can't get my brain to overlook the way the bands have changed. And I'm so not in a Cobra sort of place right now. Like, I got the notice for the fan club renewal and their video, and I was like, "Eh. Oh, yeah, didn't they have a new album out?" AND I HAVE THE ALBUM! I just really don't care for it. OTOH, I would like to write/read alllllll the fic about Pete & Gabe being BFFs.

It is the Gabe one, yes, and I totally get your reasoning.

Gabe and Pete are the BEST bffs. With occasional visits from Travie. I could read / think about / enjoy Pete-and-Gabe shenanigans all day long even though I'm not into bandom these days.
