Yeah, I figured I was just being spoiled and whiny. Not all kids are the same, I guess. I'm just used to kids who are expected to know spelling/grammar/punctuation rules, maybe. (And I know plenty of adults that make status updates very similar to this; I think it's partly that I just don't like this kid to begin with and partly that it irritates me that his mom brags about how "smart" her kids are and then he shows it through this.)
