I have internet again. And I skipped work today to stay home and sleep in and write fic. But over the weekend, mom's computer monitor finally died, so I promised Harley I'd bring mine down here so she can watch Roadkill b/c she missed it the other night. And so I have drabbles and stuff to post (a big thank you to those of you who sent me drabble prompts), now that I'm done with the fic I was trying to finish, but I'm gonna pass over control of the computer to her for now. So, you get the one that was already typed up.

For the schmoopy [livejournal.com profile] alli_everyday, who gave me a prompt of kitty, fuschia, and scrabble (i have no word count, and i didn't have anyone read over this. you've been warned.)

Jensen doesn't know why he only sees Jared's lower half sticking out from underneath the shrubbery in front of his house, but he's pretty sure it's bound to be trouble. Jensen crouches down beside his friend and slaps him on the ass.

Jared jumps a little and turns a glare of annoyance in Jensen's direction. "Shh! You'll scare her!"

"What, are we hunting wabbits?"

Jared doesn't answer, just turns his attention back to the underbrush and whispers "Here, kitty, kitty."

Jensen can see a tiny shadow of a creature making it's way slowly towards Jared's outstretched hands. He hopes it actually is a cat and not a rodent of some sort. Either way, not a creature has been created that can resist the Padalecki charm, so Jensen's not surprised when Jared backs out of the bushes and stands up triumphantly. The kitten looks even smaller nestled in one of Jared's hands, and it's pitiful mews get lost in the cold air.

Jensen barely has time to stand up himself before Jared is shoving the ball of fur at him. "Here, carry her inside and I'll get a blanket or towel or something. Don't let the dogs scare her."

Jensen follows Jared inside and mumbles, "Don't let the dogs eat her, you mean." The poor excuse for a cat would be a snack for Harley and Sadie.

Jensen does some manuevering to get past the pups with his precious package and makes it to the kitchen before Jared catches up with him and holds out a hideous fuschia colored blanket. Jensen doesn't even want to know where it came from, just takes it to wrap the kitten in. He passes the bundle back to Jared and watches in amusement as Jared plays junior vet.

A little later, they're sitting on the living room floor playing Scrabble, the kitten curled up in Jensen's lap (still wrapped in the ugly blanket) and the dogs napping on either side of Jared. Jensen spells out "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" on the board across a triple word score and looks pointedly at Jared. "That's her name, you know. Because when I saw you under that bush outside, I knew it was going to lead to trouble."

Jared laughs. "Does that mean we're keeping her?"
