I NEED HELP!

So, Harley has decided that she wants to be a visual fanartist in addition to writing fanfic. And she's asking me all sorts of questions I can't answer. So, all of you that make icons on a regular basis, and especially yall that make fanvids, are there web tutorials on these things and could you tell me what program(s) are the best to use to create things? Any help/ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated b/c I'm clueless. Thank you muchly!!

I use Windows Movie Maker for fanvids. It's a decent program, easy to use. Problem is it crashes CONSTANTLY...so unless you save after every single change, you're probably screwed.

And I use a combonation of programs for icons and graphics because I haven't figured out all of PaintShop Pro yet. But I use it for most of the work now. There are a million tutorials on it though.

Ok, well, I'm not too artistically inclined, but I can help with music videos. :) I'm a mod for the community: hp_music_videos. Go there to Memories, I have a great tutorial for making Music Vids volunteered and put together by one of the wonderful members (as opposed to me, who has no idea).
