One day I'll get my shit together. Yall believe that as much as I do, right? Keeping the dream alive.
How about a couple q&as from the
thefridayfive posts?
from June 13
1. What was your favorite childhood vacation? Oh man. We went on a lot of family vacations with my extended family when I was a kid. I really enjoyed Niagara Falls and 1000 Islands (and Boldt castle!), and I loved the aquarium in Boston.
2. What is your dream vacation? honestly, just seeing something new or experiencing something new with people I love
3. If you could take a trip around the world, what locations would you be sure to include? that's a hard one. I'm honestly not sure.
4. Do you prefer vacations to new destinations, to familiar destinations, or a mix? a mix. I love new people, places, things, but I also love the familiarity and tradition of like our annual long-weekend family camping trip
5. What activities would you plan for a two week staycation? lots of reading, lol. I'd say I would use some of that time to clean/organize the house, but we all know it'd never actually get done.
from May 9 (because I like the questions)
1. What made you smile this week? I met a lovely couple from Kenya - John & Marietta - in Kroger at like 1am the other night and talked to them for about half an hour about the importance of making/building relationships with one another.
2. What ingredients make a perfect Saturday? sleeping in. spending time with the kids, probably doing something outside and then settling in for a movie together.
3. What is the best thing you ever had for dessert? Share the memory or the recipe. tinsley's mom makes an amazing cake, and it's always good but the first time I ever tried it it was amazing. It's a white cake with a layer of cream cheese icing between the layers and on top, plus fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, sometimes blackberries or raspberries also) in the middle and on top. It's so yummy!
4. What is your favorite memory of your mom, or your favorite thing about being a mom? My favorite thing about being a mom is seeing my kids turn out so awesome!
5. What are your plans for the summer (or winter, for those in the southern hemisphere)? Lots of staying inside and sleeping and catching up on my to be read books before I get saddled with my sister's kids again at the beginning of August. And church stuff. I've got VBS next week and then annual conference the following week.
