Jun. 11th, 2006 10:32 amDidn't finish my fic yet. Wanted to research a few more things -- fanfic is educational! And no, I wasn't doing the same kind of research that
anael does! ;) Instead, this is what happened yesterday afternoon:
Was making a pitcher of tea in my new sun tea jar; I've used it maybe half a dozen times (we go through like a gallon of tea a day) and I was stirring it and a triangle chunk of glass just broke perfectly out of the back of the jar and the kitchen was flooded with tea. We all started laughing and mom was telling me about this time when she was a teenager and that happened at their house at the exact same time her Uncle Joe (who was living with them) fell out of bed and broke his hip. So I was like "that's creepy" and was thinking how much I was gonna freak out if one of my brothers called and said something had happened.
Then Jeff (mom's boyfriend -- also sometimes called my stepdad even though he's not) went upstairs to get something and he was walking out of their bedroom and bumped into one of the side tables there -- and it broke. Like snapped down the middle and fell apart.
Then, a little bit later, mom walks into the computer room like she's gonna get on the computer and there's this really loud "pop" (Like a transformer blowing) and all the power went out. It was out for about ten minutes. And the internet never came back up last night.
So yeah, it was kinda a fine line between being highly amused and being freaked out. But it wsa interesting.
Now, I have to go rearrange my storage building so I can put the seats back in my van. And my brother's girlfriend's little sister (who is six months pregnant) decided two weeks ago that she and her baby's daddy were getting married today. So I've gotta go to the wedding, which is the most thrown-together, redneck affair ever, which is worse than a planned redneck wedding. And I'm wearing a dress, which very rarely happens. Maybe I'll get pictures. And it's Jo's little boy's birthday so I've gotta go over there afterwards. Blah. I wanted to play on the computer today. Guess not.
Love and hugs to everyone; hope you're having a great weekend!!
