It's a good thing I don't actually have any authority at work, b/c I fired EVERYONE today. Fuckers. I mean, really, how hard is it to DO YOUR FUCKING JOB? Too hard, apparently, idek. *sigh* Also, tomorrow we're releasing info on a new program we're offering, but none of us have access to the website where we can look up the details of the benefits. That's some awesome planning on the part of our company, huh?

I have all my holiday cards (check this post) ready to go. Not because I'm an overachiever, but because I'd like to get them mailed off before the move on Friday. My holiday packages for my soldiers will go out at the end of next week. Just fyi, if you send me something for the holidays, you can use my current address. If you need it, let me know. For a Monday, today wasn't so bad. Thanks to irisgirl12000 for the concert calls last night, to wordsalone for being an enabler, and harriet_vane for the schmoopy sweet fic in my inbox. I know I say it a lot, but it bears repeating: my friends are the best friends!

True Blood is like a trainwreck. It's so not good, but I can't stop watching! I wanna know what happens next! And I accidentally watched like 8 episodes last night. Oops? (It's even more funny to me because I don't even like the story! I didn't get past the first couple chapters of the first book!)

I think Andrew may be getting fired tomorrow. :( I'm gonna miss his stupid ass.

Wednesday is Robbie's bday, yay! I gotta make cupcakes (two batches - one just for him & one to share). He's lucky I like him. Jerkass.

I miss Amy. She's supposed to come up for Labor Day, and I'm gonna go down there next month so she and I can drag Cliff to see Drive A, but still. I miss her!

I went out Friday night to meet Anfernie & his bf at a drag show, and saw way more of him than I ever wanted to see. Fucking Heather; it was all her fault even though she wasn't even there. Anfernie (who was actually Dallys on Friday night) and my friend Holly comparing their fake boobs was pretty hilarious though. Holly has lopsided tatas and so she has inserts for the right side of her bra. They freak Jessie out. Holly abuses that fact. Also, I have so missed hanging out with Jessie & Holly. And the rest of the RMG crew, of course. I don't miss the job at all (okay, that's a lie, as much as I hated it, sometimes I miss the physical labor and actually being able to do my fucking job) but I miss some of the people. And apparently I'm missing Jon's midlife crisis. Jessie's keeping me in the loop by txtng me pictures, lol, but it's not the same.

Belated thanks to all of you for your birthday wishes and for the well-wishes about my accident. I had a fantastic birthday and a fantastic weekend. I got checked out by a doctor when I got home, complete with a ct scan, and my brain isn't any more damaged than it was to begin with and the black eyes should go away soon even though the concussion symptoms will probably hang out for a while.

irisgirl12000 finally managed to get me to watch Generation Kill and I LOVE IT. Apparently I have a new fandom.

I am soooooo tired, omg.

Mat Devine was tweeting about hanging out with Mikey Way, and I'm reminded of stratospherique lamenting the lack of Kill Hannah fanfic in bandom. What's up with that nonsense??

I love Gabe Saporta, and the Cobras, and Travie. And I love Travie's new album, which came out today.

Dragonsoul came out today also, but I can't get it until Friday. But yay for Jaida and Dani's new book!

I basically deleted everything in my inbox, so I'm not going to catch up on LJ, comments or posts. If I missed something important, tell me here. Starting over with a clean slate for Wednesday and going to try and keep up this time.

Today is a very special day. There are two members of my flist (two of my favoritest peoples on the internet, two people I am so lucky to call "friends") who are celebrating birthdays! They both deserve some tangible token of my adoration, but they're getting a shared LJ post instead.

Dear irisgirl12000: I am sometimes completely awed by you. You are so intelligent (not just about the sciencey stuff you do everyday for your job, but about books and culture and the world and everything) and so on top of things and seem to have it all together (which, I know, is usually just an illusion, but you do it so well!). You are such a fabulous writer, and quite often I love your brain for the things you come up with. You let me come crash at your house and make me feel welcome and you include me when I can't be there. And you don't laugh at me for being ridiculous. Seriously, I don't know what I'd do without you. I hope you have a fabulous birthday and that your hubby does something awesome for you.

Dear mimiheart: Honestly, I don't know that I'd even be here if it wasn't for you. There are several people I credit for talking me off that figurative ledge a few years back when I was having my major breakdown, but you were the one I spent hours on the phone with. I hate that our fandom divisions led us down different paths; I didn't realize until recently how much I missed talking with you on a regular basis. I love that there's something I'm trying to figure out now and I know that you would answer my questions honestly and without making me feel judged, and idk if you realize how awesome that it, but it is awesome. YOU are awesome. Hopefully your birthday will be awesome as well, and your kiddos will hopefully make is a special one.
