Jun. 19th, 2009 11:51 amYou don't already have enough challenge commitments this summer, do you? I didn't think so. Well,
wendy didn't think so, and I AGREE, so go check out
cliche_bingo!
And so, in the spirit of encouraging more cliché fic, we give you Cliché Bingo.
Sign up to participate, and you'll get a bingo card with 24 clichés on it. You can pick whatever clichés you want to write in order to make a bingo (a single straight line, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally; blackouts and X's also count as bingos). You can respond to a cliché with a fic of at least 500 words, fan art or a vidlet. Once you've completed a bingo, you post a link to your stories/art/vidlets in the community, and we score your points. The challenge runs until 31 August, and during that time you can submit as many bingos as you like, in as many fandoms as you like. Once you've completed a bingo on your card, you can either keep going on that card or request a new card from the mods. You cannot request a new card until you've completed at least one bingo on the card you're given.
This inaugural session of Cliché Bingo will run until August 31st. If you don't finish a bingo by the deadline, that's fine! It's not an exchange, so it's not a problem if you don't finish on time. You can continue posting after the end of August - but after August 31st, points will no longer be awarded. However, you do have to post at least one fic/piece of art/vid before the amnesty period runs out – i.e., before next year's challenge starts, on pain of potential banination. When you ask for a card, you are making a commitment to post at least one fic, piece of art, or vidlet within the next year.
For Rules and FAQs, go here.
You may also want to see the points and scoring post, which includes examples of different kinds of bingos.
And be sure to spread the word! (This is a multifandom challenge, so everyone can play!)
In other challenge news, I was complaining last night that I had a challenge fic due next week that I hadn't even started. Well,
reallythateasy is awesome and she not only helped me figure out what I wanted to write, but she prodded me into writing 1200 words. She is so made of win and that challenge fic is DONE! YAYES! Here's another drabble type thing for her:
( Messy, bandom, Travie/William/Tom (wha?), 200 words. )
