I need to make an actual post, because I've been going over it in my head for DAYS, but oh well.

1. Apparently my yahoo account got hacked a while back? And no one told me? So I had to update my password and security stuff on there this morning. Hopefully that solves the problem, but since I hadn't logged in since like August and only use that account for nonsense, I don't know for sure.

2. I thought I was FINALLY getting a handle on my money situation, but now my brakes are scrubbing. And it's only the 13th of the month. I have no $$ again until the 3rd of May. Ugh. And I still haven't been able to come up with the extra to pay for Wincon or my tickets to see The Used next month. I gotta figure something out.

3. Speaking of Wincon, did you know there is a wincon tumblr? And this cool discussion about the best fandom experiences over on the wincon lj?

4. How crazy was that finale of Shameless? And the finales of Being Human and Psych?

5. I miss you guys. I miss getting my news from twitter and LJ, and I miss email chains, and I miss flat out talking to all of you. :(

6. The race this weekend is at Texas Motor Speedway. I've got several friends there for the weekend, and I'm SO JEALOUS, not because of the race (because I have Bristol, Charlotte, Richmond, and Martinsville tracks all within a few hours of me) but because the speedway is like 10 minutes from [livejournal.com profile] wendy's house and I would love to be there.

7. There are half a dozen fire fires burning in my corner of the world. I'm selfishly glad my brother isn't currently running with the volunteer squads, but I still have a lot of friends that are battling those things. And apparently there are firefighters from 22 different states helping out here, so I'm sending lots of thanks and love and prayers to everyone risking their lives over this. Accidental brush fire + crazy wind = half the mountain has already gone up in flames. It's mostly National Forest; I don't think any residences or anything have been threatened yet, but still. People need to remember their Smokey the Bear lessons!

8. Ronnie's in Richmond for the week with his best friend's family, and it's weird having just Davey here. Also, the parks and rec teams normally don't practice during spring break but they are this year so my kids are missing it. Oops? Games start next week and between Davey (soccer), Ronnie (baseball), Joseph (a different age group in baseball), and my brother RT (adult co-ed softball) we're going to have games practically Every Single Night until the end of May. Funtimes.

9. Ever get into the car and hear a song and get excited about it being played on the radio - only to realize it's the cd you left in there and that song wouldn't get played on the radio anyway? Silly Empires.

10. I've got Chloe here today, so I'm going to take her and Davey to do something this afternoon. Movies or skate center or bowling - the crazy weather is too chilly to be outside all day, even though it was awesome last week and will supposedly be awesome again next week. And tonight is Opening Day for our local baseball team, so yay for an evening at the ballpark!

I hope yall are doing okay, and I'm sorry I'm so faily a friend lately. LOVE YOU!! <3

Oh, I know one of the things I've been meaning to post about! What kind of jobs can werewolves hold? Not shapeshifter type wolves, but the ones who turn according to the lunar schedule? I was thinking about this the other day, and about how Remus Lupin always has a job that would accommodate his condition (in 85% of the fanfic that mentions his job), and about how I miss having money and working, but I need a job that would allow me to call in sick for a week at a time for migraines. :P

Here's their next move: The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, or CISPA, would obliterate any semblance of online privacy in the United States.

And CISPA would provide a victory for content owners who were shell-shocked by the unprecedented outpouring of activism in opposition to SOPA and Internet censorship.

The House of Representatives is planning to take up CISPA later this month. Click here to ask your lawmakers to oppose it.

SOPA was pushed as a remedy to the supposed economic threat of online piracy -- but economic fear-mongering didn't quite do the trick.

So those concerned about copyright are engaging in sleight of hand, appending their legislation to a bill that most Americans will assume is about keeping them safe from bad guys.

This so-called cyber security bill aims to prevent theft of "government information" and "intellectual property" and could let ISPs block your access to websites -- or the whole Internet.

Don't let them push this back-door SOPA. Click here to demand that your lawmakers oppose CISPA.

CISPA also encourages companies to share information about you with the government and other corporations.

That data could then be used for just about anything -- from prosecuting crimes to ad placements.

And perhaps worst of all, CISPA supercedes all other online privacy protections.

Please click here to urge your lawmakers to oppose CISPA when it comes up for a vote this month.

Thanks for fighting for the Internet.
