Aug. 19th, 2013 06:54 pmMost people work all week and relax on the weekend. I cram a bunch of stuff into a weekend and then need all week to recover.
I had a migraine most of the week last week (BLAH!) and then on Friday I had my niece come over to do some baking for Saturday's bake sale. The bake sale was to raise money for the adult softball team my brother and his wife play on. I don't play, but I'm always included in team stuff b/c I'm friends with most of them and come to the games when I feel up to it and am one of the babysitters when need be. And the dd for team nights out. Saturday was the car wash/bake sale, then soccer practice, and the kids had a scrimmage that was boys vs girls so it was Ronnie and Davey on one side against Haley. Both sides played well, but the boys' goalie was stopping everything that came his way and the boys won 4-0. Then we went back to the car wash/bake sale for a while.
Saturday evening, me and mom and the boys were supposed to redo the kitchen floor, which should have been a relatively simple thing, but nothing in my life ever is. So once we got the old linoleum up, there was a spot in the floor that was damaged where apparently the old dishwasher leaked. So we had to take up part of the floor and make a trip to Lowes and get a new board for the floor and blahblahblah. But we finally got the new tile down and it looks awesome.
That did mean that I was running late before I even woke up yesterday though, so it was crazy and exhausting and full of people, but it was good. It was the pups' second birthday, so technically Davey was throwing them a party (he mailed out invites and everything) and Ronnie grilled BBQ pork chops and Tim brought corn fresh from his garden and cousin!Amy made squash casserole and all the kids ran around like crazy wild things. Typical family afternoon.
Right now we're at soccer practice. Fun fun. Sad internet news of the day is that Jett Jackson died! :( Happy internet news is OMG DID YOU SEE THE PIC OF SEABS & HIS BABY? BB!WEREWOLF! :D
