Think yall can handle one more ficlet type thing?
Harry slipped out of bed, careful not to wake Draco. As much as he wanted to snuggle up to Draco, wake him with kisses, and spend the morning in bed, it probably wasn't a good idea. He needed some time to think. Besides, he was hungry.
He remembered mornings. Remembered how Draco liked his eggs scrambled, and toast only if it was slightly burnt. And strong coffee, which Harry didn't usually make at home, but he luckily had a coffeemaker.
When he had gone to put in an appearance at a friend's engagement party the night before, he had been thinking of reasons to leave before he even arrived. He hadn't planned on someone coming up behind him and covering his eyes, a familiar body pressing against him, and asking "Guess who?" He pretended like he didn't know, just to hear him laugh.
It had been too long since they had seen each other, and as they caught up over a few goblets of firewhisky, Harry couldn't remember why they hadn't worked out in the beginning, and later that night, back at his apartment, he started thinking that maybe they deserved another shot.
Harry knew that they had some ground to cover in order to even figure out where they had gone wrong the first time, and he wasn't even sure Draco wanted to. They hadn't really talked, since their mouths had been pretty much otherwise occupied. That was one thing that had never been a problem.
A noise behind him drew his attention and he turned to see a sleepy-eyed Draco standing there, wearing his boxers and Harry's tshirt. Harry always loved the rumpled look on Draco, and this was definitely a sight he wouldn't mind seeing every morning.
"Hi."
Draco grinned. "Hi, yourself." He shuffled across the kitchen and took the spatula out of Harry's hand. "Come back to bed."
Harry hesitated before turning off the burner, but ended up leading the way back to the bedroom.
It was lunchtime before he stumbled back into the kitchen. He tossed out the eggs and toast, and made sandwiches instead.
And I posted my (very very late) ficlet for
slashfest.
