why_me_why_notHappy List for a Friday
♥ My brother passed his ASE test, yay!
♥ My baby brother is one of the final three candidates for a PAID firefighter/emt position with the city. (nearly all of the fire depts & rescue squads around here are volunteer, so this is kinda a big deal)

wook77 has been writing Star Trek fic. Obviously, I'm a little bit fond of wook, and I beta for her, so I'm biased, but I really liked this one:
Matchmaker, Matchmaker (make them a match)
Kirk/McCoy, Spock/Uhura || NC-17 || ~6100 words
Uhura plays matchmaker. Spock helps. Kirk and McCoy are oblivious.
♥ I also read a fantastic J2 AU last night. I can't draw hearts big enough for it.

♥ My best friend's mom turns 50 next week, so most of my weekend is filled with birthday party plans.
On the not-happy side of things, I super-cleaned the kitchen, including moving the fridge & the microwave stand & everything else and I still cannot find the back to my phone. WTF?
Also, I cannot stand people that don't control their kids. We went out to dinner tonight and the family behind us had three kids -- probably like 6, 4, and 2 -- and they were letting them run wild while the parents sat there and talked. They were running around the food tables (we went to a buffet) and around the tables and at one point the little girl was under a table on the other side of the restaurant. Seriously, I don't like other people's kids sometimes.

Date: 2009-06-06 02:16 am (UTC)haha, I was excited to see wook's fic in your list of ST recs. Like I said, I'm kinda biased when it comes to her, b/c I think she's pretty much all around AWESOME, so I love that other people like her fic enough to rec it. :)
Also, Jon Walker is ridiculous and I love him. He totally makes everything shinier. <3
