Draco entered Harry's room quickly, shutting the door against the noise still filling the rest of Nivalis Home. Turning to face Harry, the smile on his lips died when he saw the way Harry was looking at him. There was more anger in his eyes than there had been when he had headed into Voldemort's lair that morning. Harry stared at him from his seat beside the fire, so silent it was worrisome, and suddenly Draco found himself pinned against the door by an unseen force.
Draco was a bit impressed by the display of wandless magic, even though he was a bit nervous about being at the mercy of the Boy Who Killed Voldemort Just Hours Earlier.
No, that was wrong. Draco remembered the feel of Harry's body beneath his the night before. Definitely no longer a boy.
Harry stalked closer, the look in his eye downright predatory, and Draco wondered if this had really been such a good idea. Harry was close enough now that Draco could practically taste the firewhiskey on his breath when he spoke. Liquid courage again.
"You lied to me."
Draco started to object, but the protest died on his lips. He had lied, in his own way. He just didn't know how Harry had found out.
"So," Harry leaned in and ran his tongue around the shell of Draco's ear, "about last night? I think you were wrong. It changes everything." His tongue slid down the line of Draco's jaw, down the side of his throat, ending in a slow circle where his neck curved into his shoulder. He pushed his body closer, pinning Draco between himself and the door, and rested one of his hands on Draco's hip with a deceptively light touch. The other hand he brought up to tangle in Draco's hair, forcing his head slightly to the side to provide easier access to the pale skin he wanted to sink his teeth into.
A slight nip at first, a malicious laugh slipping from Harry's lips as Draco whimpered slightly. Then Harry bit down, drawing the flesh between his teeth, pressing harder against Draco as he shifted in pleasure or pain, it didn't quite matter which. He let his teeth drag against the skin as he pulled back, admiring the unsymmetrical droplets of red that made up his handiwork before using his tongue to lap up the blood.
He pressed his lips fiercely against Draco's, pushing his tongue into the other man's mouth, forcing him to share the taste of his own blood. He nipped lightly at Draco's bottom lip before pulling away, one hand coming down and twisting in the fabric of Draco's shirt, pulling him across the room and shoving him towards the bed.
"I seems, Malfoy, that you once offered me whatever I wanted in exchange for my help. Turns out you didn't need my help after all, though I just found that out today. But still, you let me believe that I failed you. That I owed you something."
Draco was pushed down on his back, watching Harry warily as the dark-haired man kneeled on the bed beside him.
"But it was all a lie. And you took advantage of that, of my guilt, so you owe me."
Harry straddled Draco's hips and leaned down for another violent kiss, sliding his hands down to Draco's wrists and bringing them up above Draco's head, urging Draco to wrap his fingers around the wrought-iron framework of the headboard. When Harry pulled away, the gleam in his eyes made Draco wonder if Harry wouldn't have been better suited as a Slytherin. He produced a braided length of cord -- gold intertwined with red. Okay, so Harry was still definitely a Gryffindor. All thoughts of Houses flew out of Draco's head, though, when he felt the cord twist around his wrists, anchoring them together just beyond the frame.
"No more lies," Harry said. "This time, I'm going to take what is mine."

Date: 2006-04-23 06:35 pm (UTC)Conditional is flocked on LJ but I friended you so you can see it now. I never intended to post it on LJ at all, like I told
If you strangle me, I can't write anymore. And there is only one other person who knows the whole plotline of the Garden universe. And no, I won't tell you who it is *g*.
I'm assuming, since you read Garden & you know part of the story, that you're wanting to hear about Draco's part in the whole Pansy situation? Actually, I was working on the next chapter of Garden and chatting at the same time when I was forced to write this instead. That's all
You're one of exactly three authors who can get me to read slash (and the other two cheated), and once again I feel.. tricked.
I'm sorry! I didn't mean to trick anyone!!
Now, you have a working, if a little bit problematic, relationship between Harry and Draco, and I'd really like to read more of it; not only the "They're going to shag" moments, but also things like reactions of other characters, or thoughts, or doubts, or - and this I really want to see - the offering of Draco, which is alluded in Conditional.
You want to see when Draco originally made his offer to Harry? I honestly hadn't thought about writing that... hmm...
Great. Said it already, doesn't change the fact it's true.
Aww, thank you!!
I liked the firewhiskey on Harry's breath, as if he needs to get some Dutch courage.
yes, yes. poor Harry. but it may be more than just Dutch courage; he's just defeated Voldemort and had his world turned upside down, so I don't blame him for drinking.
I liked the last line, because it's a compelling change. I liked the entire fiction. Please, continue. Please.
Am continuing. I promise. How about a snapshot that I'm not exactly sure where to put (would have come before this snapshot):
Bruised and battle-weary when they all return to Nivalis Home, Draco's Slytherin resolve weakened and he sought out Harry, finding him trying to sneak off from the impromptu festivities that had started up.
"Potter," Draco started hesitantly, "about last night..."
Harry looked at him with tired eyes. "You kept your end of the bargain; thank you."
Draco had never realized how much he hated that quiet, defeated tone.
"That's not it. I wanted to apologize. I... that is... We need to talk. Maybe later, after things settle down a bit?"
"Draco, I'm tired of fighting, especially with you."
"Me too. I mean, I don't want to argue, I want to talk. There are some things I need to tell you."
Harry studied him for a moment before nodding. "Fine. Later, after everyone leaves. I'll find you."
Draco flashed a smile at Harry and walked away, only going a few steps before he was wrapped in the arms of a dark-haired girl Harry didn't recognize. Or maybe he did, now that she had pulled away from Draco and he could see her clearly.
Draco didn't see the look on Harry's face as four years of guilt dissolved into anger.

Date: 2006-04-23 07:35 pm (UTC)@friending: Hey, thanks! That's the first time someone friend-ed me. Would friend you back, but considering the immense number of friend-locked posts I have (0, and it's never going to be more), it would be pretty useless. I think I'll do it anyway.
@snippet: Bwahahaha! So very funny, in an evil way.
@strangling: Wasn't serious, but anyway: You and your evil logic!
@Dutch courage: Is there any other English expression which means the same? In German, it's "Mut antrinken." Is that meant with the liquid courage?

Date: 2006-04-23 07:43 pm (UTC)Dutch courage -- I don't know about English expressions in general, but as Southern American expressions go, we use liquid courage or Dutch courage interchangeably, but I don't know of any others, except for some silly ones like "bravado in a bottle" or "bourbon bravery" or something equally redneck.
