Feb. 18th, 2007 08:54 pmSo, last weekend I told my mom that today all I was going to do was sit in the house and play on the computer. I made a deal with my little sister that should could use my computer up here in my bedroom so I could use the one downstairs, so I could keep an eye on the boys while they played and so I could watch the Daytona 500 while I chatted.
This weekend, my stepdad had to replace the ceiling fan in the living room b/c of something techincal that I don't understand, but it basically kept blowing the circuit. We've been without overhead lights all weekend. We were gone nearly all afternoon/evening yesterday -- he had the house to himself. He had all morning this morning to himself b/c mom was on nursery duty at church so we had to be there early. Does he put the fan up? NO. He waits until nearly 2 this afternoon to even start, and he wants us all out of the way while he does it. Which means I don't get to play on the computer and I don't get to watch the race and I don't even get to stay in the house. Mom and I took the boys and Harley to the mall and walked around for a while, and then went to the pet store. We got back at 6 and he still wasn't done. But Sunday night is my night to make dinner and I always make something that takes a little extra effort instead of the out-of-a-box meals we eat most of the week, so mom said he just had to deal. She was letting the boys play slingo on the computer while I was making dinner (in the dark. I had only the light over the stove to see by, which wasn't helping much at all). And you can't tell this is a NASCAR house, b/c for the last 5 laps or so of the race (and longer, b/c of the wreck right there at the checkered flag) all of us had stopped what we were doing and were glued to the television.
Point is, I had no time online today. Or time to do anything I wanted to do. Boo. I was ready to cry earlier about it, but then I came to the conclusion that it's just another perfect example of my life where things never go the way they're planned and I shouldn't expect them too. Hope everyone had a great weekend, and lots of love and thanks go to everyone who came to play (or is still playing) at the comment party. *mwah*
