Jan. 22nd, 2011 02:32 amomg, it seriously looks like the valentine faerie puked all over our living room. Or maybe exploded.
But the boys had such a good time putting together the treat bags and making valentines, and Davey told me that we have to make some more next weekend because "what about Jim's friends at the VA?", and I have one more box to seal up before I go to bed and then I just have to make it to the post office before they close tomorrow. And yay for flat rate boxes, because I know how much I'm gonna be spending before I get there.
I have more packages to send than I originally intended, but I'm gonna blame that on my brother. We were talking about SA while we were shopping (b/c some of the stuff I was buying was obvsly not for my own kids) and one of the requests that had come up this week was a request from a med unit for individually wrapped quick-and-easy type things that they can carry with them to hand out - I can't log in to the forum from the laptop - which I didn't give back yet - because I can't remember my passwords (lol, fail) but the request basically said that some of the wounded that this unit has evacuated recently haven't eaten in days and they feel bad because they don't have anything on hand to give them. So the request is for things like cereal bars and snack crackers and stuff like that, which is totally doable (especially when I'm shopping at Sam's, lol), and my brother and one of the guys from the volunteer ff/emt squad decided they wanted to buy extra for me to send with my packages, so I ended up with three packages instead of one. But I'm not going to complain.
And then I'm going to be broke again, lol. *sigh* But the car payment and daycare is already paid, so there is that.
Also, super dnw to work on Sunday. I'm trying not to think about it, but ugh. Do. Not. Want.
