Jun. 29th, 2012 05:04 pmAccording to my friends, it's 116 in Atlanta, 95 in NYC, and 89 in parts of Canada. It's 104 here, but it feels like a bajillion degrees. (And all temps are in Farenheit because I'm a lazy American) I am sooooo glad we got our central air fixed, and I'm really really looking forward to spending the day on the creek tomorrow.
But the point of this post is FIC REC!
I love long fic, I love certain authors, and I love it when I can read fic from a fandom I don't know and just pretend it's an original fic. That last one isn't always possible, because sometimes canon knowledge really is required, but this one works. it's been on my list to read since before it was finished and I'm glad I finally stayed up past my bedtime last night to read more than 50,000 words of awesomeness. I can't think of enough nice things to say about this story; I simply loved it. The characters, the writing, the dialogue, the feelings and the snark. It just got me right in the heart so many times, and I'm definitely adding it to my favorites forever.

The official summary is: In which Johnny takes Patrick home to Winnipeg for the summer. Clothes sharing, fishing, wooing, stargazing and assorted Canadian wackiness ensues. If you're like me, you don't know these people (Hockey RPF) and that summary is a little vague, but if you like well written, best-friends-in-love stories with realistically flawed, wanna-smack-them-both, characters, give it a shot. :)
