Recap of my Saturday:

(was tired anyway because stayed up late last night after going over to the Red Sox game to watch fireworks)

1. Davey had a soccer playoff game this morning. We lost 3-2 in overtime and the kids were all heartbroken. Our goalie cried, which made me a little heartbroken because I adore Caleb and he does such a great job and I hate that he thinks it's his fault. Also, Davey got kicked in the face on a high kick. It wasn't like Davey had his head down or anything, this other kid straight up tried to kick the ball out of the air and hit Davey. And Davey's kinda short, but not that short. So, our season is over, until August, when fall soccer practice starts up.

2. Walmart. On a Saturday. UGH. But we got a bunch of stuff for Relay and almost everything Ronnie needs for camp, which is good b/c both those things are only two weeks away.

3. Cookout at RT's. He lives across from the civic center, and the civic center shares a lot with Lewis Gale Field (which is the Red Sox Stadium) and Salem High School's football stadium (which is also used for various other events throughout the year, including several music festivals and the NCAA Stagg Bowl every December. Well, today was the Blue Ridge Music Festival, which started at like 11am and included a bunch of different country artists. Last time there was a concert at the stadium, you could hear it plain as day from my brother's, so we planned to just hang out at his house and grill out and have a campfire and listen to music. But you couldn't hear it. Also, the parking lot was packed when I went by there around 2 this afternoon, and so was the alternate parking down the road where they were running shuttles from. So by the time I went over to RT's about 430, I had to stop in the street in front of his house to unload my car and then go park three blocks away. Good times. (I know this doesn't seem like a thing to most of you, but trust me, here it is, lol.)

4. There was a Red Sox game tonight, but idek how anyone who isn't a season ticket holder got there, because there was NO PARKING. (Season ticket holders have reserved spots in special parking area and were being allowed in.)

5. Walked over by the stadiums to catch the end of the Red Sox game (we lost, 5-2, BOO!) and STILL couldn't really hear the music festival even though we were right outside the stadium. Also in that area are a couple tennis courts and baseball fields that are used by parks and rec, so we stopped to play some kickball (well, I was playing with Illy and Larkin and watching kickball b/c the walking was more than enough to make my head hurt) and a couple families leaving the baseball game saw us playing and ran over to join us. It was actually pretty awesome.

6. I hear the Blackhawks game was kinda slow/boring/whatever but that Sharpy made a pretty goal and that they won. YAY!

7. I also hear the Penguins game was something of a trainwreck. :(

8. come crashing into my mute world -- fanfic for the movie Goon -- Ira Glatt/Pat -- 1603 words -- Pat's always been there, as long as Ira can remember, and he's always been Pat. Ira's not sure when things changed between them, when he started seeing Pat as something other than Doug's loudmouth, obnoxious best friend.

9. Just What We Do -- Hockey RPF -- Jeff Skinner/Justin Faulk -- 1248 words -- Birthday blowjob. Seriously, that's it.

10. I got mail today from wendy, which is always THE BEST THING to find in my mailbox. <3

11. Tomorrow, I'm spending the afternoon at Davey's school decorating for Monday's Beach Party (which I'm also volunteering to help with - apparently I want to spend my birthday with a bunch of fifth graders, lol), and after that we're going to FINALLY go see the new Fast & the Furious.

ETA: After kickball, we went back to my brother's for a backyard campfire and s'mores, and we saw five or six shooting stars! It was awesome!
