Merry Christmas Everyone! (for those of you who celebrate! for those of you who don't celebrate Christmas - Happy Wednesday!)

I was so not in the Christmas mood this year. Like, at all. And last week one of my uncles passed away suddenly. And a couple of friends. (So, in the last month and a half, that's two family members and three friends whose funerals I had to attend.) And on Friday, [livejournal.com profile] sxysadie21's father passed. None of those things helped my Christmas spirit.

But I did get plenty of family time this weekend and over the past couple of days. My brother invited me and the kids up to hang out on Saturday, and he made me dinner, and it was fun. I also got hangtime with Amy and Cliff last weekend. And Christmas Eve with the family was FANTASTIC, as was today with our other family.

Bela got to spend Christmas at home! It's only temporary, but she loved being with her brothers and sisters and her dad, and being in the middle of everything/everyone. The boys and I won't be able to go down and see her until after the new year, but I'm still so excited about this development.

On Friday afternoons, the middle schoolers walk downtown and hang out after school. Last Friday, Ronnie went with some of his friends, and when I picked him up, he was telling me that his friends hadn't tipped their waitress when they went out to lunch (they went to Mac and Bobs, which is a sit down kinda place and actually should require leaving a tip) so Ronnie and his friend Sid pooled their extra money to leave the waitress an extra tip "because she deserves it for being so nice to a bunch of obnoxious teenagers." Sometimes I think I might be getting part of this parenting thing a little right.

My mom got the boys laptops for Christmas, so they were super excited about that. They also got GTAV and Lego Marvel for the XBox and new hoodies. Well, Davey got a new VT hoodie. Ronnie was supposed to get a Penguins hoodie, but I had ordered it online and was sent the wrong thing and the exchange wasn't completed in time for Christmas, so his hoodie is on its way. They also got money and gift cards from several people, plus over this past weekend we had a combined birthday party for the two of them (we rented out Thunder Valley for just us, which was great, because "just us" is still almost 30 kids, but the kids loved it and everyone got at least two turns around the go kart track and in laser tag) so they had money and gifts from that, and my kids are super spoiled.

Davey says that he'd give all his presents up in exchange for a cure for my headaches. Last week he told me that when he gets older, he's going to be rich so we can find the right medicine to fix me. He's a good kid, but I hate that my bs affects him so much.

I completely lost my train of thought, so idk what else I was going to say. Oh well. I hope everyone is warm (or cool, as the case may be in your part of the world!) and happy and loved right now. <3
