1. I got new pillows for my new bed. My mom was making fun of me for being so excited about new pillows, and then Ronnie came home and I was like "I got you a present, look on your bed," and he was even MORE excited about new pillows. It's the simple things, lol.
2. Going to Warped Tour as a Mom is a lot different than going just to go. It's even very different from going as a Big Sister, which I did several times with Harley. We had a good time, though, and I got to see Sense Fail. And we got rained on. And Mina sprained her wrist in a pit. And we all got sunburn and blisters. I'm a great parent.
3. My kids don't start back to school until after Labor Day, even though several in our area start this coming week. I'm not rushing it though - Ronnie starts his senior year and I really don't know how to feel about that.
4. National Youth Conference was AMAZING. I'm still trying to recover from the lack of sleep, and play catchup on all the things I missed, but I really need to put my thoughts down while it's all still relatively fresh on my mind, so hopefully I'll get to do that this week.
5. I tried botox for migraine for the first time back in May, and I'm wishing we would have tried that sooner. Despite some of the weird side effects in the weeks after the injections, it's been great. I honestly forgot what it was like to have an actual headache-free day. Not migraines, but that low grade thrumming headache that seemed to never go away. It's so nice!
6. I've always said I have a black thumb; I can kill plastic plants. Back in the spring, we were at the store looking for some mothers day flowers, and Illiana picked out some vegetable seedlings that she insisted she wanted. They were only a couple dollars each, so we got them, and we planted them in our front yard around the tree stump that Illy and Larkin call theirs (they decorate around it and use it for a stage). Well, those veggies absolutely flourished! We have squash and cucumbers and sweet peppers! Illy is so excited that she's growing things in her garden. :)
