Jan. 28th, 2021 10:40 pmWe got snow today! Not enough to amount to anything, but it's pretty. Another system heading in on Sunday, so maybe we'll get lucky with that one. Miranda had her gallbladder surgery today. Everything went well and she's at home recovering. Hoping to be able to steal my kid away from her for a bit this weekend to do some proposal planning.
My bff's birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, and I have no idea what to get for her! Last year was a weird year (she was in the process of moving at the time) but before that I would do a gift card for a restaraunt and plan a visit so I could hang out with the boys while she and her hubby got an evening out. I don't know when I'll be able to visit. I've not been to their new place, so I don't know, like, the pizza place they order from or anything like that to know where to get a gift card for. I'm thinking I may check with a friend who hosted a couple virtual paint nights over the summer and seeing if that would be an option. Organize the date, send her the supplies (canvas, paints), talk her husband into keeping the kids distracted for an evening so she can hang with us virtually. Idk.
Several people have tried to add me to a fb group for "let them play" - locals trying to petition the school district to let team sports happen with less restrictions or whatever, despite numbers continuing to rise here. I might feel different if this was last year, and it was Davey's senior year, but even then, I think I'd be against it. (Not that it would matter that much; if Davey wanted to wrestle, he would wrestle. I would voice my opinion, but leave the decision up to him. That's why he came back early off a fractured leg his junior year, and why he wrestled regions/states last years with injuries - that was his choice.) But regardless, I'm not getting involved in that group.
Thoughts on Lucifer: (just finished season 4)
- Tom Ellis has creepy eyes
- Lucifer sometimes reminds me of Brian Kinney
- Maze has been my favorite since the jump, but I love Ella as well
- I don't have a craving for fic about the show, but I like the idea of a situation that threatens Trixie and everyone losing their shit being overprotective (also, I've heard there are some Lucifer/Good Omens crossovers, which has potential for great snark, so I might check that out)
- idk if I'll ever be able to see Kevin Alejandro in anything and not think of him as Jesus from True Blood
- I was very conflicted about Tom Welling. Hated his character, but couldn't decide whether I find older Tom attractive or not
