February 17
Feb. 17th, 2021 09:19 amRonnie and Miranda got engaged Sunday! I'll share a picture, I just need to remember how. But they were under the wedding bell at Dixie Caverns and they're cute. They're not getting married until next year (10-22-22) and they're young, but Ronnie is also an old soul. I'm okay with it.
My brother-in-law's truck caught on fire yesterday! One of my nephews lives down the street from them and called me like "The Burrow is on fire!" but when I checked it, it was just James' work truck. Still, that's way too much excitement for a Tuesday evening.
Took my dad to his appt yesterday, and his meds are apparently kicking in and working because he's no longer accumulating fluid in his abdomen, which is obviously great news. He's also moved in with my brother and sister-in-law so he's drinking and smoking a LOT less, which is also good.
Mom decided last week to stop chemo. The cancer has spread to several other places, and the chemo isn't doing anything more than slowing the progression. After each chemo session, she's in bed for at least a week and she's miserable. So she and her dr talked about it and she's going to stop the chemo and just enjoy what she can do.
Worrying about all my Texas friends right now! Several of them have been able to check in on twitter, so I know they're okay(ish) but that's a doozy of a situation and I'm praying for all of them!
I need to do a video lesson for my children* about Ash Wednesday, but I got nothing. I should probably go work on that.
*I've always called my youth group "my Youth" but I've only recently ended up in charge of the elementary age kids, so I'm not sure what to call them. "my children" doesn't seem to work but I don't like the way "my church children" sounds. idk.
