Happy February 7th! We're halfway through! Yall are all ready for me to shut up now, aren't you?
Song for today: Only God (Could Stop Me Loving You) by Emerson Drive
jaxie926: Hi! It was so awesome to meet you at Wincon! I had a blast at karaoke, and a great time talking to you when we got back to the hotel and the next day. I think you're an awesome person and an awesome friend, and I'm glad to have met you.
jocelyncs: I haven't talked to you in a long long time. I love the thought and detail you put into your LJ posts and I love that you are so strong in your opinions. Also, there was an article in our local paper a few weeks ago about the Renasaince Faire and I immediately thought of you.
keepaofthecheez: You have a huge following of fangirls, and you totally deserve them. I'm amazed by the sheer amount of fic you write, and it's all awesome. I'm glad we met at wincon and glad to have you around now, to squee with over new SPN episodes and everything else. *big hugs*
keladry_lupin: You are such a sweet person. I love getting comments from you and reading your LJ posts. I know that if I ever get the urge to do memes, your LJ is the place to steal them from. I love that you call your cats the Beastie Boys. And I love that you put orgies on your to-do list. *g* I'm so glad to have you as my friend.
labrt2004: I think I can count on one hand the number of times we've actually talked, but whenever I think HP fandom, you're one of the top names on my list. I'm glad to have you on my flist. Oh, and congratulations on your OWL award!
ladydisdain225: I think we need to get to know each other better. I don't know quite what to put here. Be sure to come play at the comment party or in the fandom chat, okay?
ladysilverangel: I remember now that you're on the opposite side of the world. *g* Everytime I think of you, I think of your kitty icon, which I totally love. I love that you're scared of spiders, and greatly amused that you were scared of Charlotte. Your drunk-post was very cute (you lightweight!). I didn't realize until we talked the other day how young you are, but you're the same age as my baby brother and my half-sister. Random useless tidbit of info. I know there's a huge time difference, but you may be able to join in for at least part of our fandom chat on 2/18. If not, please come by and play at the comment party with us, okay?
lexalot: I will forever think of you as having purple hair, just so you know. Meeting you at wincon was awesome, but getting to know you through your LJ posts after had made me just come to adore you. I think there are all sorts of good things in your future and you deserve every one of them. *hugs*
lilian_cho: You won my heart when you gave me concrit and then became my beta for PutP. I miss talking to you on MSN; I really should see about reinstalling it. I miss our crackified conversations that spawned lots of crack bunnys. And I missed you when you disappeared for forever and a day, so I'm glad you're back. And being nitpicky about things to keep me straight, and organizing my LJ. You are so so awesome!!
Um, yeah. So once upon a time (about a year ago) I wrote crossover crack for de, probably on a dare, and it begged for a backstory. And a sequel. And a sidestory about Brian/Sirius that is still on my to-be-written list. Anyway, even though valentines is supposed to be a happy occasion, we all know that is not always true. So, today and tomorrow you get not-so-happy drabbles. They are perfectly understandable on their own, but if you've read Just Add Tea, it's part of the backstory.
Draco lay in the dark, watching the shadows that raced down the wall to mirror the rain on the window. No doubt the rest of the world was thinking the rain was romantic, even if it had made them alter their Valentine's plans. Bugger that. He preferred to think of it as a complement to his mood. Today should have been a day of celebration ,a happy occasion. Voldemort had been defeated; the War was over. Everything ahead of them was a new beginning. Except the beginning that Draco was expecting was ending instead.
Harry was gone. No word to anyone, just gone. He had destroyed Voldemort, checked to make sure that his companions were alive, and vanished. Despite the searching and the tracking spells and Draco's sheer want to find him, there was no trace of the Twice Hero of the Wizarding World.
It would be easier on Draco if he could believe that what they had was all a lie wrapped up in lust, but he couldn't. He knew that what they had was real. Something had happened, and Draco had a sinking feeling his father was involved. He would figure it out, though, and one day Harry James Potter was going to have to make good on all those "after the war" promises he had made.
Today's Recipe is
Kahlua Fantasy Chocolate Cheesecake
1 1/2 c semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 c kahlua
2 tbsp butter
2 lg eggs, beaten
1/3 c sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 c sour cream
2 8-oz pkgs cream cheese
chocolate or graham cracker cheesecake crust (buy from store or make your own)
Soften cream cheese, and cut in pieces. Preheat oven to 350. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt chocolate with kahlua and butter. Stir until smooth; set aside. In bowl, combine eggs, sugar, and salt. Add sour cream; blend well. Add cream cheese to egg mixture; beat until smooth. Gradually blend in chocolate mixture. Turn into prepared crust. Bake 35 min or until filling is barely set in center. Turn off heat and let stand in oven for 15 min with door open. Then take out of oven and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour. Refrigerate several hours or overnight.

Yes, install MSN please :-DDD
I miss our insomniac conversations *g* (Although my sleeping schedule's nowhere that bad now, lol)
I'll most likely install Trillian for the fandom chat, but I'm resistant to new applications so prolly would still use MSN primarily :-P
I shouldn't disappear this summer *crosses fingers* except around the end of July when Book Even comes out.
And I'll buy kahlua to try out your recipe :-D (I have everything else methinks)

I read half of book six the night I got it and never finished it. If i read all of book seven, it won't take that long. and i'll probably be reading in front of the computer and chatting as i go. I'm pretty sure that's what we did with book six. *g*
Re: <3
Date: 2007-02-08 06:24 am (UTC)You haven't finished HBP? Just read it for all the awesome H/D moments lol.
I'm cheap, so I'd probably read it at Barnes & Noble on the 21st and the 22nd (Sat and Sun) :-P
Re: <3

Survive on the ones borrowed from libraries, wait until the paperback comes out then buy the hardback at half-price :-P
Re: <3
Date: 2007-02-08 06:40 am (UTC)I very rarely buy books at full price, especially hardback, but for this i will

Date: 2007-02-08 06:33 am (UTC)Bailey's Marbled Cheesecake
9-inch graham cracker crust
24 oz cream cheese, softened
3/4 c sugar
3 eggs
3/4 c Bailey's Irish Cream
2 semisweet chocolate squares, melted
Beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Blend in Baileys. Pour about 1/3 mixture into a bowl and stir in melted chocolate. Pour half of plain mixture into crust. Drizzle with half the chocolate mixture. Repeat layers. Make a marbled design by gently swirling batter with a knife. Bake 10 minutes at 450, then 55 minutes at 250.

Date: 2007-02-08 06:58 am (UTC)I must admit that I'm a meme addict. They're such fun!
I got called a tease for the cut line of having an orgy over the weekend, making my friends click on it ... only to find out that it was a book orgy. (But it was fun!)
I'm delighted to have you as my friend, too! *glomps*

Date: 2007-02-09 03:33 am (UTC)Nothing wrong with being a tease. Proves how pervy your flist is that they thought it was something dirty. *g*
