Untitled Bandom Ficlet!

For
irisgirl12000, who encourages me when I'm slacking on trying to get ahead on my homework and tells me "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH BARISTA!JON".
Also,
reallythateasy is sending me bits of a Tom/Brendon spinoff of this that is totally making my night. *hearts*
Spencer knew Ryan was hearing him bitch, even as he kept his attention on the book he had open in his lap. It wasn't like it was that big a deal anyway; it wasn’t something that Ryan actually needed to listen to. It was just that Ryan had been so wrong this time.
After months of teasing Spence over his not-so-subtle crush on the hot guy that made his morning coffee, Ryan had finally convinced Spencer that he needed to man up and just ask him out. So Spencer took his morning break a little later than usual (partly to avoid the morning rush but mostly to make sure Frank-from-accounting didn’t overhear him make a fool of himself) and was in the middle of a conversation about the ridiculousness of the teenage girls that had just left gushing over the latest Stephanie Meyer novel (Spencer seriously hated days when the local schools were closed and the teenagers wasted most of their morning in Starbucks, spending Daddy's money and ogling Jon and demanding his attention for frivolous requests when Spencer was trying to use his limited break time to talk to Jon) and had been on the verge of asking Jon out, had even started with, “Hey, so, this Friday—“ when they were interrupted. A vaguely familiar-looking boy (he was a friend of Jon's, Spencer knew, with dark, messy hair and an infectious laugh and a grin that made him look like he's always up to something and enough energy to rival Frank; S had been irrationally jealous of him until he realized he was touchy-feely with everyone and not just Jon) literally bounced into the store and up to the counter Spencer was leaning against as he was talking to Jon. He threw an arm over Spencer's shoulder and flashed him a bright smile before turning to Jon.
“JonWalker! Shane tells me you want me to get naked for you this afternoon!” he proclaimed cheerfully, as if it was normal conversation.
And Jon didn’t disabuse him of the notion, just lit up and answered, “Dude, yes! That'd be awesome; I've got this new thing I want to try!”
Just like that, Spencer’s hold on Jon’s attention (and his chance) was gone. Spencer scowled at the two of them before excusing himself to go back to work. Apparently he was wrong to not be jealous over this friend of Jon's.
