RAIN! Seriously, yall, it's still JUST RAIN! I cannot believe that the kids didn't go to school today; it's utterly ridiculous.
Tomorrow is my momma's birthday. I baked her a cake; just have to ice it tomorrow. I'm skipping class tomorrow evening as well. (I did SO BADLY on my quiz tonight in A&P, btw. I got an 83. Mr. Ingraham made sure to tell the entire class before he let us go. Fucker.)
pocketfullof is gathering donations for the American Lung Association, in Kim Manners's memory. Please go check out her post and consider giving something.
I think that's it for now. (oh! I figured up my taxes, even though I don't have my W2 yet, and now I'm even more anxious to get them filed. REFUND! It'll be especially helpful since they're cutting hours at work -- starting next week we're all going to 32 hours/wk. I'm kicking up my job searching, but even if I do start a new job, I AM GOING TO TEXAS IN APRIL!)

Date: 2009-01-28 05:57 am (UTC)I hope I get some refund with my taxes. God knows they take enough out of each of my paychecks.
We've had raindays here. The back roads can get bad sometimes. Though we're supposed to get some of that ice storm tonight/tomorrow. Ick. Not looking forward.
Texas?

Date: 2009-01-28 06:05 am (UTC)We were supposedly going to get some snow/ice/sleet today, so they closed schools early this morning before it even started doing anything. It rained pretty steady all day, but the temps never even dipped below freezing -- it's like 37 on the porch right now -- so I think it's ridiculous. According to my supervisor, he talked to Dr Seibert (our superintendent) and they had to use up a certain number of snow days by a certain time or they won't be able to build them into next year's calendar or some bullshit. idk.
I'd like to get a real snow, but I don't see it happening. Although, I also really should worry about the wet roads, b/c my van needs tires badly but I'm not gonna put new ones on there when I'm gonna trade the van in as soon as I get my tax refund anyways.
TEXAS! I'm gonna go visit

Date: 2009-01-28 06:17 am (UTC)Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that. They do lose them if they're not used, though it seems a bit early to be using them now....
Sigh, yeah, we haven't had a big snow in years. :(
Oooh, new(er) car! Yay!
Oh, awesome! I do so love Texas. It would be so great to actually live there (I'm an original Texan, though I only spent about five years of my life there. still counts, though, imo). I hope you have the mostest awesome time!
