"Aww, how sweet!" Pansy cooed, sniffing the large bouquet of flowers sitting on Draco's desk, the latest gift from Harry.
"It's not sweet," Draco countered crankily. "I'm not a bloody girl, and flowers don't make up for the fact that I'm hugely fat and miserable and I'm not even allowed to set foot in my own potions class. Merlin knows what Granger is teaching my students."
Pansy refrained from pointing out that Draco was pregnant. She was a good friend. Or perhaps she heard that Draco had hexed Blaise last week for bringing it up. Instead, she stepped away from the flowers and asked, "Are we going to lunch or not? I'm starving."
She made no move to help Draco as he struggled to get up off the couch. Pansy really was his favorite friend. She was the only one that didn't allow Draco special privleges for being pregnant. He didn't want anyone to treat him differently. Except for Harry, of course, since this was all his bloody fault.
"Where are we going?" Draco wasn't really hungry, but he was looking forward to getting out of the house for the afternoon.
"Neuberns? I've a craving for their candy sundaes."
Draco made a face. "This is the third time this week we've gone to Neuberns. Are you sure you're not having my cravings?"
"Um, well..."
Draco turned to Pansy and stared, taking in the way she was blushing and biting her lip. "Really? Dammit, why couldn't you have done this a few months earlier?"
Honestly, if Pansy were a true friend, she would have gotten pregnant at the same time as Draco, not six months after.
