My dad is staying with his long-time best friend right now. Jimmy Bell is one of my favorite people in the whole world; he and my dad have been friends since they were kids, and have caused all sorts of trouble together, and Jimmy is someone who I not only consider family but someone I know will always be there. He's got a crazy wife, who I don't like. They were married when I was teenager, and I've never liked her. She's screwed him over a few times, and she has had a serious drug problem for years, been in and out of jail and rehabs (usually clearing out his bank accounts when she's out), but there must be something there because he hasn't gotten rid of the bitch yet. Anyway, Jimmy just had open heart surgery a few weeks ago. While he was in the hospital, his wife cleared out their account and went on a heroin binge. And got busted. So she's in jail, again, and Jimmy needs someone to be at the house with him, and my dad needs a place to stay, so anyway. Daddy's staying with Jimmy.
I went over there this evening to pick up dinner (my dad cooks enough for a dozen people, then always wants me or one of my brothers to come over and eat and/or take the leftovers home) and didn't know I was also supposed to be saying goodbye to Charlie, Jimmy's 15-year-old daschund. He's named after my dad (who is known as Charlie to a bunch of people - that's another story) and obvsly has been around forever, but he's blind and he's barely able to walk now and he's miserable and they're going to have him put down. :(
THEN my dad tells me that he talked to my Aunt Lettie (no one had talked to her in about a week) and finds out that her dogs had gotten out of the yard and were hit by a train. (I have a big problem with this story, because my aunt has lived in the same house for more than ten years, those three dogs grew up there & have gotten out before and they all know to avoid the tracks, idk) Puppy (a collie mix mutt one of my brother's friends found in a dumpster about seven or eight years ago) & Scamp (my cousin's gf four year old pitt mix) were both killed, and Lulu (she's a lab mix, I wanna say she's probably a little more than ten years old) had to have her tail amputated and is tore up pretty badly. She's been at the vet since it happened.
I also found out my cousin Kristy is back in jail and her baby was put in temporary foster care for a couple days but my aunt (not Kristy's mom) now has Grayson (he's like 7 months old). Idk.
I'm so upset about the dogs, though, I don't even know. Like I said on twitter, I need cuddles and comfort fic. (I already got my ice cream, lol.)
