One of the worst things about taking a break is that things I wanna say tend to pile up...

First, there is a multi-fandom challenge going on over at January is the Coldest Month.

Now, there are all kinds of fanfic exchanges in the HP fandom, so I'm hoping that some of you that write/read/can write in other fandoms would step forward to try your hands at this. Fandoms like QaF, LOST, Narnia, Due South, CSI, Without a Trace... come on, guys, there are some of you that I KNOW can do this. maddykitty? nekare? scots_in_kilts? deliciantasy? What say you? Signups are until Jan 10th; I'm going to try to get at least three of my dare fics posted this weekend and then sign up. De's dare fic is still in progress, but she's granted me an extension.

Speaking of dare fics, I have a question. Draco is mad at me over the crack!fic, and won't cooperate with me writing an ending. If it's okay with nekare (since she assigned the dare), and if anyone is interested, would it be okay if I posted it with a request for help with the ending?

Now, a request. The lovely loyaldreamer has entered a poster contest for the movie Silent Hill. The preliminary voting is being done online, so would you guys mind taking a minute to go vote for her? You can vote for her entry by clicking on this link and pressing the "Vote for this poster" button at the top of the page. You can vote once a day every day between now and January 17th. I'll love you guys for helping out with this!

Well, it sounds quite interesting, and I'd love to write in the Narnia universe, but I've already signed up for a challenge in omniocular, a collective fic over harry_and_ron, I've got to finish my series in blanketforts, write a present for ltlredhairdgirl aaaand: start college. I will think about it though. (shit, I just remembered, I also signed up for a promt challenge in angelgazing's journal.) *dies at the thought of doing all that*

for the dare fic -- put it on OWL & I'll link to it after it gets posted *g*

for the other -- it's a fic exchange. If you click on the link in the post (January is the Coldest Month (http://www.livejournal.com/community/coldestmonth/383.html)), it takes you to a sign up page. Fill in the info with up to three fandoms you would be interested in reading and writing in (it says three, but there are several signups that only have one fandom listed and have it noted that that fandom is the only one they're interested in/know well enough to write). Then you'd be assigned a fandom to write for & any specific requests that the person you are writing for has requested. Like, one of the people who already signed up requested due_South with no Ray Vecchio. So if you were matched up with that person, you would write a ficlet in the due_South universe featuring characters other than Ray Vecchio and using the prompt "January is the Coldest Month" (which is the prompt for all ficlets) and then I'd beta it & you'd turn it to the moderator (full details come with the assignments) and then all the stories are posted (and we can tell all of the authors to come share their stories on OWL *g*). Did I explain that ok?
