why_me_why_notHow sad is it that I get more action in LJ comment threads than I do in real life? I came home last night (late -- we went out to dinner for Davey's bday -- Mon nights kids eat for 99cents at Country Cookin), piddled around a little bit, and then crashed, but I'll be replying to all my comments/emails as soon as I post this.

celisnebula posted a fantastic little bit about choosing an archive. Words of wisdom, I'm telling ya! And it brings up a point I wanted to make, as well. If you post your stuff somewhere other than LJ or OWL, I love it when you link to it. I don't read much outside the two, but that's only because I hate having to search for things. Plus, if you post multiple places, like I know many of you do, it allows me to give multiple link options in case I rec you.
Finding things outside the HP fandom is harder. Tauri also has a multi-fic archive, An Archive Like None Other, as well as the Tales of Middle Earth and Red Suits You archives, but the are not as well known and are severly lacking in fic. (hint, hint -- any of you that write outside the HP fandom and are looking for a place to go -- check out AALNO!)
I've gotten spoiled with having the fics come to me. Or knowing where to find good fics (likepaddies' site Queer Eyes for QaF fic) or having a great flist with great recs. So when I got a hankering to read Narnia fic, I had to go searching for it, and I forgot how scary it can be to try and find well-written, quality fic. It exists, I know it does, but it's so hard to find sometimes, and it's so scattered. Several people on my flist have made recs, and I love that, but it wasn't enough. So I was jumping around different places on LJ (and may or may not have been looking at all the yummy pics of William Moseley, and feeling like a pervy old lady b/c he's freakin' adorable but he's still a baby! Although he's the same age as Zane -- who I never talk about except that once w/ ltlredhairdgirl and she and I talk about all sorts of random guys so I doubt she remembers it. but, um, yeah... *g*) Then I came across orlibloomedme, and she totally owns my soul this week. She has written several fantastic ficlets about the Pevensie children in Narnia, and they capture the essence and innocence of Narnia, and of childhood itself, and she also has such a good way with showing the dynamics between the siblings. You all know how I feel about siblings, especially my brothers. But these stories are wonderful, and I love them and look forward to her writing more. And I have to share. *g*

The Draco/Teapot crack!fic is completed, as is the SS/NT forordinary_magic. All it's waiting for is to be beta'd. ltlredhairdgirl, nekare, mimiheart, anael -- it's open to you guys; wanna check it? If anyone else wants to sneak a peak by offering beta skills take a pass on it, let me know & I'll add you.
A note to all you HP fans, remember to vote in the OWL Awards. Votes must be in by midnight on the 15th. If you don't know who to vote for, you can always just vote for me... *g*
Um, what else, what else? Tomorrow night is LOST and Invasion!!! But I'm gonna miss it! My uncle, for those of you who knew he was in the hospital, did pass away, and the funeral is tomorrow night, and this is my family, so it's hard to tell when I'll get home afterwards. I'm not trying to sound shitty and I realize that does, I'm just saying that funerals in my family tend to turn into everyone gathered at someone's house, eating and drinking and basically having a party to celebrate life. So, um, yeah, I may not be around tomorrow night.
macberly has more memes on her LJ for me to steal, but I'll wait a bit before I do it. *g* I'm turning my messengers on, so if you need me for chat or beta or whatever, give me a shout. I'm going to answer all these emails & comments, and then find the rest of the pics I need for the picspam I'm really late on (sorry, ltlredhairdgirl and somigliana! I haven't forgotten, I swear!), and then finish Iris's fic to send to the betas as well. In that order. If there's something else I need to do that's more urgent, remind me!

Narnia fanfic? I never even thought of that! I was thinking that I wanted more Narnia so I started rereading the books, I never even thought about going in search of fic! You have opened my eyes to new possibilities.
