Hey, if anyone happens to come across my non-fluffy muses, would you pretty please send them home? The schmoopiness is driving me batty!

H/D, moon, laughter, rain
Harry stood in the doorway trying to subdue his grin. Only Draco could look so completely adorable when he was all sleep-rumpled and grumpy. Harry knew better than to say anything, though, because Draco's temper was volatile at the best of times.
Harry glanced up at the ceiling, which worked on an enchantment much like the one in the Great Hall at Hogwarts. The sky there was dark and filled with rain, an ominous reflection of Draco's mood.
"It's her birthday," Draco said suddenly, looking at Harry as if he'd known all along he was standing there.
Harry nodded slowly. It had slipped his mind, but now that he had been reminded of it, he knew why Draco was upset.
"I think I miss her laughter most of all," Draco said with a sad, wistful smile. "Not that she had much reason to laugh those last few years, but she was always happy to see me. I just... I wish I could hear her laugh one last time."
Harry crawled up onto the bed beside Draco and pulled him into his arms. "Let me see your wand."
Draco silently handed over his wand, and Harry pointed it toward the ceiling and murmurred an incantation that left the two of them blanketed by the soft glow of the moon.
"It's not the real sky," Harry whispered apologetically, "but there are plenty of stars. And somewhere in that wide expanse of sky, she's watching over you. I bet the fact that you remembered her birthday makes her happy. If you listen closely, you can probably hear her laughing."
As Draco stared up at the sky and snuggled closer to Harry, listening intently, Harry was listening as well.
He missed the sound of his mother's laughter too.
