So, Jericho. One episode left. And no Heather tonight = she's recovering from her night with Jake?
That whole thing with Emily & Jake at the end -- okay, if he's still in love with her, more power to them. But... I want him with Heather. It's not that I don't like Emily, I just... I don't like her with Jake. I don't like the way she's talked to him, etc., but I can understand if that was her way of coping with whatever had happened between them. And she's still in love with him. BUT she knows that Heather has a thing for Jake. Dammit. Um... I don't like Gray. At all. He's such a shit-starter, and totally out for himself. Stanley & Mimi hooking up was inevitable. Hey, Bonnie wasn't in this episode either! WTF? I knew there was gonna be trouble out of Emily's dad's gang. Gracie getting attacked/stabbed/whatever wasn't what I was expecting though. One episode to go. Then I can live in my world of fanfic.
I was making Chex Mix during Criminal Minds, so I didn't get to follow it too closely, but a couple things...
My favorite part of the episode -- JJ & Garcia seeing the explosion/fire on TV and Garcia crying while she was calling Morgan. I'm not sure what I think about the new agent. Prentiss? Hey, I think her name is Emily too, isn't it? Hmm. Anywho, I see her and Reid competing for the know-it-all status in the future. I love how Gideon played that guy; he's so awesome. Chessmaster in a good way. Reid quitting the chess game at the end was amusing. He's so adorkable. Hotch being worried about a breech of security in calling his wife made me think WTF. Though it only took a word from Morgan for him to try it, so maybe he would've done it if he was alone? Very very glad she and the baby weren't at the Mall anyway.

Date: 2006-12-04 10:07 am (UTC)The episode with checking his passport? Yes, I've seen that, and it makes me wonder re: CIA. Because, AFAIK, there's no international peace-keeping force in Southern America. But then again, the series is in 2009/10, so....

Date: 2006-12-04 08:27 pm (UTC)It is definitely possible he's CIA or some very covert branch of the military (it's all almost like something out of a Dean Koontz novel or something). One thing I keep coming back to though is how he told his dad that he kept trying to prove him wrong but everywhere he went he seemed to prove him right. I think when he said in the beginning that he was a fuck up, he was right on the money. And speaking of money, I would think that if he's a government operative, he'd be making pretty decent money, so why does he need his inheritance so bad? What's it for?
And you're right that the series being set in 2009 does affect what's going on in the outside world b/c we don't know exactly what has happened to change it from the world we know.

Maybe he doesn't want to do that kind of job anymore and wants to say, build a bar for his pilots. (BSG reference) Or his colleagues. Also, he seems able to kill somebody, but he's also hell-bent on not doing it.
How's the smut going? Any chance of reading it before tomorrow morning, 7am (aka in 14 hours)? /me likes Heather/Jake. I still like Emily, however; their relationship doesn't come across a active, but rather something along the lines of "We were, now we're friends."

Date: 2006-12-06 08:12 am (UTC)I'm still sick and not exactly feeling very smutty, so even though the main part of the smut is written, I have to go reread it and get it betad and I don't feel up to it. Also? I made an LJ post earlier & went to bed. Now it's 3am here and I can't breathe and so I'm checking my email but I'm gonna go take a shower or something I think. I'll try to finish the smutty part of my Jake/Heather within the next couple days, by the weekend. this weekend I really really need to finish my slashfest fics and the heather/jake wants to be written first.
I like Emily too, except she irritated me in the last couple episodes. I was getting the feel of a past history but the last episode changed that idea. Although now I have a whole fic planned out about it. I think Jake realizes that they're different people now and that their relationship is a thing of the past even though they will always love each other, but I don't think Emily has figured it out yet. I think she's still in love with the man Jake was before he left Jericho.
