Oct. 8th, 2013 01:47 pmI feel like I have been SO BUSY but a lot of my time is filled with sleeping and waiting. Ugh. I really do mean to post more, but I'm so tired a lot of the time. I think it's partly adjusting to the meds and partly having to deal with so many people / outside situations because people are exhausting. So, here's an update of sorts.
~ On Friday, I babysat Brielle (who is now 3 months old, and a little butterball of perfection) and she was wearing a zebra print onesie. When we went to meet friend!Amy for lunch (because Fridays are our standard lunch day), Zachary kept saying, "I WANT TO HOLD THE ZEBRA!" and it was hilarious.
~ Davey fractured his wrist again. The break is in a different spot this time. He basically just caught himself wrong when he fell (or was pushed down, he and my nephew Joe say he was pushed down by a girl) but he makes up a story every time someone asks him what happened. He was so mad that he had to miss a soccer game while he was in a splint and that they're making him sit out of gym. He ran a 5K last weekend (Fired Up for a Cure) when he was still in just a splint, and then he got his cast on Thursday, and he did the 5K Zombie Run this weekend, no problem. At least he can finish out the soccer season.
~ Davey, Ronnie, Haley, Jayden, and Kristina (along with our friends Stephanie & Dustin) ran the Zombie Run 5K this past Saturday. They all had a great time, and it was for a good cause. (It was a bit disorganized, and it was their first year, but I still have like a whole email of suggestions for them?) Some of the zombies there were so so great. At the finish line, there was like a giant slip-n-slide through red goo (blood, I guess?) and all our cameras had died by that time so no one got a pic of our crew at the finish line! After the run, Haley said she can't wait to do it next year, and then asked me if they could do the Color Run and a couple other local 5Ks next year (because I'm the one that paid for them to do this one). I am totally okay with paying for the kids to run charity 5Ks!
~ Saturday afternoon, the boys and I went to Richmond to stay with Bob & Kim. Sebastian and the boys hung out and played video games, I got to hang out with Bob and Kim and talk. And I spent the night in Bela's bedroom, which was super weird for me, but I actually had a great night's sleep and dreamt of Bela. On Sunday, we all went to the hospital to visit with her, and she is doing so well with her rehab. She is able to lift her head, lift her bottom, and raise her arm (she gave Bastian a high five, and he asked for another one and she said no, and I was like "do you want to high five Bastian in the face?" and she started laughing). Her speech therapy is coming along great too. She does really well with getting all of her syllables in a word, even though it's not always recognizable what she's trying to say. I am excited about how well she's doing. I think she was more excited to see Ronnie & Davey than she was me, lol, but I did download a copy of the leaked P!atD album to take to her (I already preordered it, I figured it wouldn't be cheating to download the leak) and she was super excited about that. As of right now, her hospital release date is Dec 10, possibly sooner depending on how rehab continues to go. Which is awesome, but brings up a whole new set of problems for Bob as far as figuring out transportation and also modifications to the house and all that fun stuff. But it was so great to see her!
~ I've been keeping Zachary on Monday afternoons while Amy has her counseling appts, and yesterday her sister wanted to keep him, and Amy said all last night and this morning, Z's been asking where I am and saying he wants to see me. <3
~ Jamie had her first official OB/GYN appt this morning and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. My new niece or nephew is due May 2, but we're hoping he or she'll get here a little early because we need an April baby!
~ Hockey, Sons of Anarchy, Haven, Parenthood, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Survivor, Chicago Fire, and the new Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs movie are all discussionable.
