Hi, loves!! Welcome to February! So, I know I've been pretty absent from LJ-land lately, and that when I am around I'm only halfway here and usually I'm whining, but for the next two weeks, my LJ is all about the happy. We're going to celebrate the Fourteen Days of Valentines! I've split up my mutual flist into parts and have written a short note for each of you. Some of the notes are obviously longer than others, because I know some of you better than others, but I love all of you. Each day I'll post about ten flist notes, as well as a schmoopy love song, a drabble, and a yummy (simple) recipe. And, since we all know how bad I am with follow through, I have all fourteen days worth of posts completed and just waiting to be posted, so there's no worry about me getting halfway through and not finishing. So, enjoy, and remember that I love yall muchly!!

As a conclusion to this, I'm going to host a comment party the weekend of Feb 16th - 18th (if you've never participated in a comment party, I'll explain more about that later) and top it all off with a massive multi-fandom Y!M chat on Sunday afternoon (the 18th). We'll probably start around 2 or 3 my time (EST) and go until whenever we quit, unless someone wants to start sooner. More info on that later too.

I still miss talking to you, and I hope your RL isn't being too tough for you. Ohhh, and I just stumbled onto your LJ and noticed that RL is being a bitch again, so I'm sorry, and I'll be around whenever you're able to be back online. Worry about you and your fiancee and school. Fandom will always be here.


_emeraldgreen: I think you've been as sporadic at LJ as I have been lately, so we haven't talked in far too long, but you're still one of my most favorite people in HP fandom. Some of my favorite one-shots were either read to linked to on your journal. I hope you're enjoying your holiday and can't wait to see pics when you get back!


_sin_attract: It was awesome meeting you at wincon. I admit that it took me forever after that to get organized and actually check out your archive. But that's because I never do anything on time. Which reminds me, I really need to go submit some more stories there and add a link to your archive from my LJ, don't I? Anyway, I love the way you archive is set up, and I've enjoyed reading the few LJ posts of yours that I've caught. Hopefully we can talk more once I get my online life back on track. Also, I think you are probably closer to me (as far a geographical locality) than anyone else on my flist, which is kinda cool.


a_is_for_amy: I love the links you post on your LJ, and the random parenty things that I can comment on. I don't really get to talk to you anymore, but I do read your posts whenever I catch them even if I don't always comment.


acidquill: Your Christmas present is going to turn into a Spring Equinox present. Seriously, it's sitting here mocking me. Do you know how hard it is to find anything with the name Sam on it? You'd think it'd be there, because it's a fairly simple and common name, but I can't find it anywhere! Maybe next weekend when we go running around. Anyways, I had a great time with you at wincon (the karaoke bar) and I wish I'd had more of a chance to catch up with you since we've all been back at home since then.


acostilow: I know you're not online right now so I don't know when you'll actually see this, but I miss you and our crackified Y!M conversations. And I haven't heard from Athena in months now, so you should come back and make her talk to me.


actingfiend1004: I'm waiting for the day I see you on the big screen. Or on my TV (and that doens't mean on COPS for stalking and attempted kidnapping of hot actors). I've missed you lately; I know work's been keeping you pretty busy and all though. Maybe things will settle down in the near future. I also want to thank you for being there for me and sending me happy/hopeful comments on some of my whining entries. I seem to be making a lot of those lately. You're a good friend and I hope to get to talk to you more soon.


aillen: Um, yeah. I have no idea what to say to you. Apparently I need to come stalk your journal and talk to you a bit before I do this again.


alisanne: Your WotDs make me smile. I dunno if it's b/c I'm that much of a geek that I love words or if I'm just strange. I think that your fics are on my to-be-read list and I feel horrible that I haven't gotten around to them yet. But I will, the HP ones at least. I'm not into Smallville, but I've been known to read fic anyway. In the meantime, Happy February!

Today's drabble features Winchesters and coffee.

It started small, with Dean stealing sips of Sam's coffee when he thought no one was looking. Then Dean began insisting that he be the one to go on coffee runs, and by the time his coffee reached his hands, Sam's cup would be a quarter empty. Dean would usually try to blame it on the girl at the coffee counter, even though his own cup of black coffee was completely filled.

When Sam got a Starbucks gift card wrapped up in a letter from Jessica's parents, Dean's eyes lit up like a child at Christmas.

Sam couldn't help but laugh. "C'mon, man, just admit it. You like my coffee."

"Whatever, Sam, I'd only drink that frou frou stuff if it was a last resort and I was in desperate need of a caffiene fix."

"Whatever." Sam shifted in his seat, the disbelief clear in his voice. "Any reason we're getting off the interstate?"

"We need gas."

Sam glanced at the gas gauge, which was less than an eighth of a tank below Full. "No, we don't."

"Well, it won't hurt to top her off." He pulled into the gas station and cut the engine.

"Yeah. And the fact that there's a Starbucks right next to the gas station has nothing to do with it."

Dean glared at his brother. "Give me that damn card."

Today's recipe is
Cappuccino Cupcakes

1 3/4 c all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 c granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c brewed coffee
1 1/2 tsp instant coffee granules
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c prepared white frosting
chocolate-covered coffee beans

1. Heat oven to 350. Line 12-cup muffin pan with cupcake papers. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, allspice, cinnamon, and salt.
2. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl, about 2 minutes or until light colored and smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. On low speed, add flour mixture, alternating with brewed coffee. Divide batter among prepared liners.
3. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until firm to the touch. Let cool in pan for 5 minutes; remove from pan to rack and cool completely.
4. In a small bowl, combine instant coffee, vanilla, and 1 tsp warm water. Stir until coffee is dissolved. Stir in white frosting until blended and no dark streaks remain. Spread icing over cupcakes and decorate with coffee beans.

They've organized a letter-writing campaign to the President of Entertainment at the CW, and sending postcards to magazines asking them to cover SPN. And some other things. Trying to make sure that everyone knows that we love SPN and want it to continue.
