Happy February 2nd! (okay, so I'm a little late, but it's still the second. for almost an hour!) Day two of
14valentines is celebrating Women in the Arts, so don't forget to check out today's posts!
Today's song (which I almost forgot to upload) is one of my favorites, even if it was my ex-MIL & her b/f's song (he was MY AGE) which is kinda creepy. But it's still an awesome song, and it's by one of my favorite groups. Amazed by Lonestar
alli_everyday: Baby, you make my everyday brighter with your text messages. I still have the pic you sent me of your girlfriend saved on my cell phone. I love hearing about your daily adventures in hurting yourself (I promise, I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you! Klutz.) and I love your enthusiastic love of Jared. And your just-as-enthusiastic dislike of CMM. And the overuse of exclamation points in your lj posts. Actually, I love alot about you. I think you're kinda stuck with me now.
alliwantisanelf: I worry about you b/c I've been so horrible at keeping up with the lives of my flisters lately and last I remember you weren't feeling too well. And I know I shouldn't worry b/c you not only have YD and LP to look after you, and they do a terrific job, but you also have pp down there with you now. Lots of little things in my RL make me think of you, and I wish I got to talk to you as much as I used to, b/c I miss you lots. Um, what else. You're an amazing writer. I love the dedication you have to your fanfic; the details you include are incredible, and the passion you feel towards your characters really comes through. And your telling of The Prance's story is one of my most favoritest things ever.
anasuede: Gosh, there's just no good place to start when it comes to what I'd like to say to you. Um, it constantly amazes me that someone as amazing and brilliant and popular as you is such good friends with me. Because of you, I've met some of the most awesome people in fandom and that means a lot to me, but more than that you mean a lot to me, b/c I know that you'll be there for me to talk to if I need to (even when I'm texting you at like 6 in the morning, as I tend to do) and you always know just the thing to say to make me smile. I admire you for having the courage to take the Reno job, b/c moving out there and just knowing Kel had to be (and probably still is) hard. I think you're an awesome writer, a fantabulous fangirl, and an even better friend. Thanks.
annella: I'm sorry that by the time you download the SPN eps everyone has already seen them and are bragging about them. But hey, at least you get to see them, right? B/c where would we be without our weekly dose of our boys? And you write porn of my favoritest varieties (wincest and H/D) so that makes you all kinds of awesome!
apple_pi: I admire your ability to write so amazingly in several different fandoms, and you always manage to do a brilliant job, especially with characterizations. Everything you write evokes emotion, whether it be tears or giggles or dying from hotness. You are such an interesting, diverse person, and I love just lurking in your journal sometimes and reading what you write, not just in your entries but in your comments. And you've always been so friendly, ever since I can remember. I remember when I first met you, when you first joined fandom & hit the monaboyd community and I had a different LJ name and I don't think I realized at the time how great you are. I'm very very glad to call you a friend.
archingback: Hey sweets! I'm jealous that all kinds of de's other friends got to meet you at Lumos and I missed out. Unfair. I have an awesome amount of love and appreciation for you just by association, and I can't wait to meet you. Also, I mailed you a birthday card, but I don't know if it'll make it there in time, so just in case, Happy Early Birthday!
ariadne1: ARI! You are so amazing, in fandom and in RL, and it just astounds me. I love working with you (when I'm not being a total slacker, which I have been most of the time since you joined Tauri) and I love discussing things with you. One of my all-time favorite fandom memories will always be the fanfic chat we had with you. And Patrick. B/c I am going to write fanfic with Patrick in it. Hmm, maybe I should make that one of my valentine's drabbles... Anyway, back to you, I love how creative you are and how friendly you are. I'm so glad to be able to call you friend, and I wish you all the best of everything in the new adventure you're getting ready to start.
atana_blackfox: I friended you originally because of the SPN crossover that you're writing and that I enjoy even though I'm not really familiar with the other fandom (which I can't think of at the moment b/c I'm braindead). But during one of my low points, you left me an awesome comment and gave me your Y!M name and invited me to talk anytime I needed to. I've not taken you up on that, but the offer itself means more to me than I can ever tell you. And I'm sure I will take you up on it one day.Thank you. *hugs*
Today's drabble is Criminal Minds. Nope, we'll have to save that one for tomorrow. This one goes for today. HP drabble ficlet, based in my PutP universe. This will not mean anything to you unless you've read that, and probably won't make much sense if you haven't read it.
Karissa sat at the window in her dormitory, watching her classmates as they walked to Hogsmeade. She wanted to go with them, but she hadn't been feeling well and Madam Pomfrey had forbidden it, even going so far as to talk to Remus, who was still technically her guardian, who had revoked her permission to go into town.
She understood, really she did, but that didn't mean she liked it. As if spending two days in the infirmary hadn't been bad enough. Now she was missing Hogsmeade on the weekend before Valentine's day, and all her friends would come back talking about what a good time they had with their "sweethearts". It seemed that everyone had a sweetheart for Valentine's weekend except for her, since she was confined to the castle.
She turned around with a sigh, looking at the package that Hedwig had dropped off that morning. Yeah, the charm bracelet was beautiful, and the chocolate was her favorite kind, but a present from her brother and his boyfriend wasn't the same as one from her boyfriend. The boyfriend who had been acting differently towards her since they came back from Christmas break. The boyfriend that was probably on his way to Hogsmeade with someone from his own House.
A flash of movement caught Karissa's attention and she turned to find Dobby standing by the foot of her bed, hopping nervously from one foot to the other. She didn't understand what he had to be nervous about. Even though he spent the school year here at Hogwarts, he spent the summers and holidays at Harry and Draco's, same as she did.
"Miss Karissa, you is wanted in the kitchens." He disappeared as quickly as he had come.
Confused, Karissa debated changing out of her pajamas but decided against it. The only ones in the kitchen were the house elves, and they had seen her in her pajamas on several midnight-snack occasions. She tossed the invisibility cloak over her -- Draco didn't know she had it; Harry had given it to her before the start of the current school year and warned that if she got caught with it, she'd better come up with a good excuse -- and headed for the kitchens.
When she walked in, she was surprised to find that the small table set with tea for two, finger sandwiches in the shape of hearts, and cookies in the shape of mini-cupids. "What--" she started to ask, but stopped when she saw Patrick standing on the other side of the table, a sheepish grin on his face.
"Hi."
"Hi," she returned, a bit hesitantly. "Shouldn't you be on your way to Hogsmeade right now?"
"Without you?" He gestured towards the table and pulled out a chair for her. "Why would I do that?"
"Well, you've been acting a bit strange lately," she answered truthfully.
"Hmm." He sat down across from her and appeared to be choosing his words before he spoke. "Karissa, when my mother found out exactly where I had spent the Christmas holiday, she sent me a not-so-pleasant owl. Not that that's anything unusual for her, it's just that in this one she accused me of being after your family's money, or wanting a piece of your fame. And I... I've just been worrying that others think that too, and I don't know how to convince you -- and them -- that it's not true."
Karissa started to smile. "You mean Draco didn't scare you off with his 'big brother' talks?"
Patrick shook his head.
"Don't worry about anyone else. I know that you like me for me, and that's all that counts." She leaned across the table and kissed him. It was a happy Valentines for her after all.
The recipe for today is

Will you be around this weekend?

Date: 2007-02-03 05:23 am (UTC)I'll be around some of the weekend. Harley and I are going to the Sugarland / Little Big Town concert tomorrow night, and on Sunday we're all going to the community college theater to see Hansel and Gretel.

Sorry love, only Sam has that power. And Sirius, sometimes, but that's accidental magic. And usually involves orgasms.
I'm sorry you're exhausted. At least it's the weekend, right?

Date: 2007-02-03 05:02 am (UTC)LMAO! True though. I watched 'Provenance' last night and Sammy was just too cute with that chick. I just about died when he kissed her at the end. I hate when he goes and does things like that and makes me doubt my allegiance to Dean.
And yes, I'm glad it's the weekend. Got anything fun planned?

Date: 2007-02-03 05:21 am (UTC)ah yes. Superbowl. I'm so not into football. I watch for the commercials sometimes though. Did you know they had a show on tonight that was a preview for the superbowl commercials. Isn't that silly? But one of my shows supposedly comes on after the super bowl. have no idea why, other than to cause a conflict with one of my other shows, which i happened to miss last week. stupid tv.

Date: 2007-02-03 05:29 am (UTC)I wouldn't be so excited about the game if the Colts weren't in it, because I love me some Peyton Manning. My parents were watching the Superbowl Commercial show when I came home! They didn't show my favorite one, though, I don't think.

Hey, it's kinda like a mini party everyday. Exactly! Leading up to the comment party the weekend after valentines! Fandom needs happy thoughts lately, I think. And I so love my flist!! The recipes are all very yummy and fattening, and the music is sappy and mostly country, and the fic is from a gazillion different fandoms, so I'm hoping that everyone will find something to like here over the next couple weeks.

I am working on another long story, though. Still V/O, but it's firefighter AU and that means I need lots of other characters! Can I use your turtle cake recipe in the story? I'm gonna try that soon!
(((hugs))) I've missed you too!

Date: 2007-02-03 05:15 am (UTC)YAY for another al story!! And firefighters are way yummy -- GUH! You can so use the turtle cake recipe! And try it! My friend Crystal made one a couple weeks ago and it was so awesome. Mmmmm....

Date: 2007-02-03 05:48 am (UTC)And that if you're only supposed to have light meals, and the week after your surgery you go to the steakhouse buffet and the Pizza Hut buffet but you wear your pajamas under your coat, the only person who will roll their eyes at you is your surgeon.
I went back to work a week early because I was getting in more trouble at the house staying by myself than I could possibly get in at work with 12 other people keeping an eye on me.
I am sooooo using that turtle cake...do you have a preference which male firefighter would either a)bake it on his night to cook, or b)beg for it on somebody else's night to cook because its a secret recipe and he loves it so well? I've got room for more names of celebrities who could be all sorts of emergency care workers, so you tell me somebody and I'll see what I can do, okay?
no subject
Date: 2007-02-03 06:11 am (UTC)i think i should bake a turtle cake and take it up to the firestation (its a block up the road and when the weather is warm, the boys and i would stop and talk to the firemen on our evening walks)
None of my current celebrities fit in with Vig & Orli! *cries* I know it's AU so anything goes, but you know what i mean, right? Though since you made me think about it, I could picture either a) Gale Harold (aka the sexiest man alive -- GUH! just thinking about him makes me hot) baking it from a secret recipe b/c he's kinda quiet and secretive, and iirc he's from the south & it's a good southern recipe, or b) Jared Padalecki begging for someone to make it, b/c he begs so prettily with his puppydogness and such, and b/c it reminds him of the desserts his momma used to make back home. You can do whatever you'd like with it though. I just look forward to reading it.
Firefighters are hot. No pun intended. And men who bake are hot. Put them together and it's delicious. :P (i get silly when i'm tired, sorry!)
