Happy February 4th! Don't forget to check out today's posts at
14valentines! Today is about drawing attention to domestic violence. Which I know some of us know about personally, so raising awareness about it is very important.
Song of the day: Soul and Inspiration by The Righteous Brothers
chaeldub: I think my most favorite thing about you is how much you love your friends. I think it comes through in the way you leave comments and in other ways, particularly the time and effort you put into wook's deamus fic, which was too awesome for words. You are so sweet and friendly and funny and I love that we're friends; maybe one of these days one of us can make that huge trip across the world and we can meet up for real.
cinnamon_sins: I know you've had a rough year, but you've persevered and made it through. I love talking to you about the kids, even though my boys are a little bit older than Dade. I'm very proud of you for going back to school and taking steps to make your life better. *hugs*
citikitti: I love reading your LJ. I feel that I know your amazing family and I love how much your love for them shows in what you write/share about them. I love that you're so multifandom. I know that I originally friended you over LOST but later found out that you're a puppyshipper, which rocks my world. You write awesome stories, but I like that I'm able to think of us as being friends above and beyond just fandom.
closetcase_99: I find myself thinking about you a lot lately, even though I haven't talked to you in ages. I think it's because I've made a couple new RL friends that kinda remind me of you. I hope things are going well for you and that your parents and your RL aren't interfering too much with the pursuit of your dreams. I believe you're stronger than you think you are, and much good and happiness lies in your future.
cmwinters: I love that you're not afraid to say what you think and stand by your convictions. I wish we got to talk more. I feel like I'm saying that to half my flist, but it's true; there's just not enough hours in the night, it seems. I need to find me a time-turner, I think. I miss talking with you about PLOT b/c you have some awesome ideas that are very plotty and not everyone does, or cares to listen to my ramblings b/c I tend to get way involved in what I'm writing.
corvidae9: I don't know you that well (yet) but you were introduced to me by some of the most awesome people in my world, so I'm sure that you're just as awesome and I can't wait to get to know you better!
cyn_ful: I am so glad to see that you've found such happiness in your RL, b/c you totally deserve it. And I totally fail b/c I have a present for you sitting here mocking me, and by the time I remember to take it to the post office and mail it, the baby's gonna be grown! I hope things are going well for you and your adorable little family.
darkcelestial20: You are the first thought that comes to my mind anytime anyone mentions Las Vegas. I miss talking to you! I know that you're way busy with school & real life, both of which I hope are going well, and that I've been busy being nonsociable, but we really should plan a chat sometime for me and you and vern and 'mione and some of the rest of the old crew.
deanandsam: I love your username. *g* Um, I love your graphics, and I admire your creative ability when it comes to things like that (mine is not just seriously lacking, I believe it's non-existent). I love how enthusiastic you are about your part in fandom, and how friendly you've been to me during my rough spots over the past year. Thank you.
How about we make today's drabblet/ficlet/whatever (tablet?) a Queer as Folk one, huh?
"Brian, there's a young artist from New York on line one for you."
"Thank you, Cynthia." Brian decided to be professional because the last time Cynthia had announced a caller that way, Brian had picked up a bit inappropriately and... well, he had had to do some fast talking to explain that one. "Brian Kinney."
This time, however, it actually was his young artist from New York. "What are you wearing?"
Brian laughed. "A business suit, which is appropriate since I'm in my office taking business calls."
"I can think of some other business that has been taken care of in your office." Justin didn't give Brian a chance to answer before he rushed into, "So, I got your voicemail and I'm returning your call. What's up?"
"It seems the esteemed Mr. Honeycutt is throwing a party on Valentine's Day."
"Emmett's a party planner; he throws parties every night."
"Yes, but this is his personal party. To which I have been invited."
"And?"
"It's a couples-only party, because Emmett has developed this... thing about uneven numbers on his guest lists. And I was going to take Daphne, but she's going with some boring pre-lawyer she met at school."
"Aww, that's just tragic, Brian. But hey, what can you do?"
Brian could hear the smirk in Justin's voice and shook his head. "I'll pick you up at the airport. Cynthia will email the flight details."
The recipe for today is
Oatmeal Bars
3 c oats
1 c packed brown sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 c milk
1/2 c butter, melted
2 eggs, beaten
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl; spoon into a 9-in square pan. Bake at 350 for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool and cut into bars. Enjoy!

Date: 2007-02-04 09:12 am (UTC)Awww, *hugs* you are made of all kinds of awesomeness. That's what LJ is all about and fandom in general, meeting people and creating friendships. I'm probably lucky in that my flist is quite small and thus I can devote a little time to all of the lovlies out there. But you right comments are ♥ and that's why I always try to comment on something that I like or peaks my interest.
As for QAF draclet/fibble/drabblet/whatever... *yayes* - USQAF S02 just got released on DVD here so I have to buy it and get right back into that again. *eek* to many fandoms Potter/Star Wars/QAFuk&us/LOST/SPN so on and so on...
The US is on my list of places to go... one day soon.

Date: 2007-02-05 06:12 pm (UTC)QaF (us, b/c i haven't seen the uk) is just so awesome. I'm so in love with the characters. I wish I could capture them better b/c I'd love to write fic for that fandom.
I loved the first season of LOST and actually loved most of the 2nd season, but I haven't watched at all for S3 and don't plan on it. I majorly lost interest in it (no pun intended) b/c it just got... well, rather stupid, actually. Not even the hotness of Sawyer and Sayid could save it. So I'll just stick to the LOST canon that's pre-S3. *g*
