Happy February 12th! Hope everyone had a great weekend and a great day, even though it was Monday.
Today's song: In This Life (I Was Loved By You) by Collin Raye
sethkyne_blue: I miss you when you disappear. I do think you're an awesome writer and I miss reading your fic. I hope you aren't having too much trouble with real life and with your
hp_springsmut. Come back soon, okay?
snarkyroxy: Some of my most favorite memories in fandom all together are chatting w/ you and Jen (and I don't remember who else was there -- this seems like forever ago now, but I know the two of you were there) and working the vQ with you because we worked so well together. I miss that because I don't really have that with anyone else. I love that when HBP came out, you went and got your book, came home, and got online. And you were carrying on an IM convo with me as you read and telling me the stuff that was happening since you got your book like 6 hours before me. Which doesn't seem right b/c I think you're like 13 hours ahead of me, but my memory is kinda filled with holes. I heard you're taking a fandom hiatus. I hope you'll still check in occasionally? I really miss talking to you. *loves*
somigliana: I hope you're settling into your new home okay? I'm so jealous. You're so worldly. I love hearing about your real life, and I love talking about books with you. I sometimes forget how much I love actually reading novels and such, and then I come across one of your posts that reminds me. *big hugs*
sorcha_gaia: I know that you've been having a really rough time of things lately and I just want to make sure you know that I'm thinking of you and sending warm thoughts in your direction. I have been really bad about keeping up with my flist. I love your LJ because your posts are so... I wanna say "intellectual" but that's not exactly what I mean. Well thought out, maybe? Even though we don't really have a fandomy connection, I'm so glad to have you on my flist and I'm so glad that ari introduced us in that chat back in the summer.
sunsetmog: I am so excited over you getting sucked into SPN that I can't put it into words! *g* I love hearing about your RL, especially since everything is just so different to me. I love how you randomly ramble on your LJ about nothing and everything. Even though we're not really close, I like to believe that we are friends and that makes me very happy. *hugs*
swedish15: You totally made me rethink the whole ending of Garden. And then I got distracted and never got back to it. But it was awesome that you did, and I appreciate it. I'm sorry I haven't posted any Jericho fic. I keep thinking that it's not finished, but I think it is and I'm just ambivilant about it. I hate that you're so far away and that our schedules don't let us actually be online at the same time b/c I'd love to actually talk to you. Keep making those awesome grades on your exams and playing in fandom with us; I love having you here!
sxysadie21: HI!! You are definitely one of the awesomest of the awesome. I love that I can talk to you about everything and that when I was whining about relationships a while back you totally got it. I love that you say things like "It was so sweet, I think I threw up in my mouth." I love your love of the Novotny-Bruckner family. Most of all, I love YOU! *smishes*
How about a very short peek into the lives of young Sam & Dean?
Sam barely looks up when he hears Dean come down the hall, but then has to look again. Dean's dressed up. Well, not really dressed up, he still looks like the hooligan the neighborhood parents think he is, but he's dressed up for Dean.
"Where you going?" Sam asks.
"Out." Dean grabs the Impala keys off the side table by the couch. Which means he's going out with that girl again. Sam doesn't get why Dean's so interested in spending time with her. She's just a dumb girl. Staying home and playing video games would be more fun. Even target practice is more fun.
Sam wrinkles his nose in distaste. "Why?"
"You'll get it one day, Sammy," Dean says with a laugh, ruffling Sam's hair before he goes out the door.
Today's Recipe is Puppy Chow. No, really.
9 cups Chex cereal (any variety)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, stir together chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Microwave uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
Stove-Top Directions: Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside. In 1-quart saucepan, heat chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter over low heat, stirring frequently, until melted. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
**This makes like 18 servings (1/2 cup each). I'm sure you could halve the recipe if needed.

Date: 2007-02-13 05:11 am (UTC)Yeah, we're good, although our container hasn't arrived yet, so we're running on skeleton provisions hehe.
Oh yes, novels rule - I'm reading a beautifully written at the moment called My Sister's Keeper. It's a bit different from the usual I go for.
*big hugs to you too*

Date: 2007-02-13 05:36 am (UTC)When is your container supposed to get there? Skeleton provisions can't be much fun. Although it'll make you appreciate your stuff more when you get it.
That name sounds really really familiar. Who's the author or what's it about? I'm thinking maybe it was one I was looking at the other day and almost bought. Lemme know if it's any good? I'm reading Secret Sins (by Jasmine Cresswell). I just started it, but it's pretty good so far. I was gonna buy myself a new book tonight at the kids' bookfair but I didn't get a chance to look at the adult books.

Oooh, I've never read that author before. I'm always a bit nervous to venture to a new author, but I miss out on a lot that way :D

Date: 2007-02-13 03:32 pm (UTC)Nah, just kidding. Take your time. With both fics. They're yours, so let'em stow, if necessary. God knows that's what happened to The Breathing Dead, which is still suffering from lack of end-age. Regarding talk: How often are you usually online in any instant messaging service, and when? (The latter please with timecode.) Yes, I'm willing to stay up late. Just not today. And since my next exam is a little (big) bit in the future... (which, by the way, is a story worth telling, just not here.)
Take care, willya?

Date: 2007-02-14 05:00 am (UTC)I'm online on Y!M usually in the evenings, like 10pm to 2am EST. I'm hoping to be online more often in the future, but right now I'm still staying at mom's and it's hard.
I'm taking care the best I can; you do the same, k?
