More randomness.

I just got off the phone w/ my ex-stepdad (Harley's dad). My mom had called him to tell him that one of his exes had passed away over the weekend (she saw it in the paper & he lives in another state now). So I told him that's why she was calling & he was like "Brenda who?" And I'm like "Um, the Brenda you lived with for more than a year up in the trailer park?" And he really had no clue who it was. So I was like, "Well, let's see. Her older sister Rose was your first (or second) wife, and you have a son by that woman. You lived with Brenda for a year until her mom married your Dad..." And he finally remembered, but it was kinda crazy. It's a good example of what drugs can do to you...

Dude! That sounds eerily like the story my mom told me about her best friend. See...I already knew a lot of the fucked up details, but I didn't know how much worse it got. The two main points: Her first husband got her sister pregnant. The entire family kept it a secret and the sister told her kids that the dad died. So her twins are now 26 and my "aunt's" son is 29 and they just found out they aren't just cousins. The 29 year old son...found out that his 3rd child isn't really his son, but his brother because his dad slept with his wife. Talk about keeping it in the family. And her friend's last husband left her for her mom. Drugs did no good for ANYONE. Seriously.

it's like you have to draw a map to connect the people in the story...

and the straight lines turn into circles...haha

Makes me think of the Black family tree.

lol.

your story reminded me of my friend stephie. she used to be a stripper at Southern Exposure and she got pregnant by some guy. Then she married Gary (not the baby's dadddy even though he's on Anthony's birth certificate). Couple years later they had Destiny. (Desi actually is Gary's; she's the spitting image of him) Then Stephie got pregnant by Gary's dad. How the hell would you draw that family tree? :P

It always reminds me that my redneck white trash'ness isn't as bad as other people like to make it seem. I used to watch Jerry Springer in middle school for that same reason.

lol. i can totally understand that. Although I kinda don't mind my redneck whitetrashness; it's part of who I am *g* (i need a redneck icon. or a nascar icon. hmm, maybe a G.R.I.T.S. icon?)

I appreciate my redneck whitetrash'ness too. My dad is already trying to get Dade ready for racing. He's been saving up for a go cart so he can start him next year with the other kids. Get a Jeff Foxworthy "you might be a redneck if..." icon. I swear my family fits more than a few of them.

DUDE! I actually kinda love Jeff Foxworthy. The Blue Collar Comedy Tour cracks me up. Almost as much as Country Fried Home Videos.

Larry the Cable guy is doing a show here like this week. I prefer Jeff and Bill though over Larry and Ron.

me too. ohh, there's a new Trick my Truck on Friday night. *is a loser*

only semi-related, i'm so ready for the warm weather b/c I miss the car shows! friday and saturday nights in the summer, it's like classic car drive-in in the parking lot behind sonic. It's kinda awesome, in a geeky redneck sorta way

That is awesome! I die for classics. Probably why me asking my dad to help me buy and restore a '67 Impala didn't phase him in the least. In fact, it excited him. Haha. Though he's more excited about the fact that my other dream car is a Challenger. But then he's always been a Dodge guy. I happen to be a Chevy girl. If my crappy ass Monte Carlo is anything to say for it.

lol. my brothers and I have been talking about what kind of cars we're gonna get my boys. We've decided we're gonna buy them a classic car when they're about 10 or 11, and then the boys and my brothers are gonna restore them. So that way when the boys can actually drive, they'll appreciate the time and effort they had to put into their cars. Ronnie wants an Impala *g* but from the get go my brother and I were thinking maybe a Nova or a Charger. I'm a chevy girl too, but my current chevy is a minivan. It's still awesome though. I want an older model Silverado; I'm buying me one next year at tax time; this year's tax money is already spent.

I'd love to do that for Dade too. It really makes the car mean more. I loved it when Dean rebuilt his baby. You saw how much more he loved her after that.

If I was to get a new car I'd go for a Pontiac Vibe or a Mazda6. As for cheap used cars, I'm looking at a Chevy Malibu right now.

one of my brothers works at a car dealership, and I worked at the same on in high school. so I have connections when it comes to cars; i got my van at tax time last year for under book value b/c I still get an employee price at the dealership. And since my brother works in parts, and since several of the mechanics treated me like I was one of their kids, they all do work on the side for me. it's really really helpful.

That would be awesome. I just lost the transmission on my car and I've put so much into the car that it's just not worth it anymore.
