There were some things I was going to talk about on here, RL things and about my day and whatnot, but I can't remember what they are at the moment, so oh well.
I was running through things in my head, trying to come up with some wee!winchesters for
notthequiettype when I remembered a prompt
ltlredhairdgirl had given me a while back and that I hadn't written. I can't tell you the exact prompt because it was left on my voicemail, but I started from there. I didn't end up with what she originally asked for and my winchesters are a little older than I would consider "wee", but here is still 600 words of fic for my girls:
Dean hates to see the disappointment in Sammy's eyes, but really, this should be his day.
Sammy had been so excited, running in the door from school. He had written a short essay that had, of course, earned him yet another A, and the essay was going to be printed along with some others in a special section of the local newspaper.
Sammy always gets straight As. Always. Dean isn't stupid, far from it in fact, but he's lucky to keep a C-average. He'd do well in school if he actually gave a shit about what he was learning there, but he doesn't. Most of the time it doesn't bother him, because he knows that Sammy works hard for his grades and he does deserve recognition for them, but today is different.
Today, it annoys him that Sammy's getting all the attention, even interupting the praise Dad was giving Dean for his accuracy with the crossbow.
Dean knows that what he does is spectaculary stupid, but it's just an everyday, run-of-the-mill goblin he's after, and killing it is easy. Sneaking back into the house isn't, but that's okay. Dean wants to get caught, wants to brag to Dad about his first solo kill.
He gets grounded for sneaking out and taking such a chance, which he thinks isn't fair, but that's okay too because he can see it in Dad's eyes that he's proud.
Later, after the creature's body has been burned and Dad and Sammy have gone back to bed, Dean finds himself sitting at the kitchen table, trying to pretend he didn't see the hurt in Sammy's eyes at having his glory outshined. It's hard though, especially with the big red A mocking him from the fridge. They had to read some book in school (okay, so he hadn't even read the cliff notes on that one; he'd just copied enough of the test answers from the girl sitting next to him so that he passed) where the A stood for adultery, but Dean thinks maybe this one stands for asshole because he's starting to feel like one.
He stares at the paper for a long time before going and grabbing it off the fridge to read.
Heroes
by Sam Winchester
Some people think hereos only exist in comic books and fairy tales, but there are heroes in our lives that go overlooked. Some of these everyday heroes are doctors, firefighters, marines like my dad, or church people like Pastor Jim.
My hero is none of these things. My hero is only fifteen, but he's more grown up than kid. He helps me with my homework even when he doesn't do his own. He always makes sure I get the last cookie and the biggest bowl of cereal, and he always eats my broccoli for me because I don't like it. When Dad's not home, he lets me stay up late and watch old monster movies with him.
He saved me from drowning once, which is probably the only reason some people would think he's a hero, but the biggest reason he's my hero is because he tells me about my mom, even though he misses her. But I don't remember my mom at all so his stories are all I have. I think he's a hero for pretending he it doesn't make him sad to talk about her, just to make sure I know about her and how much she loves us.
He may not have superpowers or a fancy degree, or even his drivers license yet, but my big brother Dean is a hero to me.

Date: 2007-03-25 02:09 am (UTC)So what are your options?

Date: 2007-03-25 02:25 am (UTC)Options:
**Jake/Heather smut (which is almost finished)
**Emily/Heather college fic (which is plotted out like four different ways but not written on yet)
**Dean/JJ crossover smut (in which the smut is written but I can't figure out how to end it)
**Morgan/Reid control fic
**Angsty J2 (You're not Free and I'm not Easy)
**J2 schmoop with food smut for alli
**chocolate draco crack (which you have personal stake in, so I don't think you can pick that one)
**Jess/Sam
And I have these two things written in my notebook & I don't know why:
Dean is Sam's protector. He's literally pulled him from the fire twice before, and he'll keep doing it, no matter how many times it takes, to prove to Sam that he's protected and to make sure the Yellow Eyed Demon knows he'll NEVER get Sam.
Whoever said "The truth shall make you free" was a liar. Okay, Sam knows it's from the Bible, and the Bible is more often misinterpreted rather than wrong, but he doesn't think that the truth will get him out of this situation.

Date: 2007-03-25 02:35 am (UTC)I think I'm gonna take attempt #3 at writing this Sam/Jess fic I told you about. Here's the drabble that started it:
"I can't believe we're doing this!" Jess exclaimed as she looked around the empty store. "This is insane!"
"I told you I wanted to make your dreams come true," Sam said, kissing her on the forehead and putting his arms around her. "Welcome to your very own pastry shop, Madame Baker!"
As Jess began preparing the first goodies for her shop, peanut butter chocolate chip bars, Sam was marveled at how his life was turning out. He thought to himself "How much better could life get?"
