I'm soooo lazy tonight. Work has completely exhausted my body & I don't want to move. I was gonna take the kids to get something to eat b/c I didn't want to cook, but then I decided to be even lazier and get Peppers b/c then the hot delivery guy brought my food to me.
How about a song? And it's not country!!! But it came up on my iPod so I've been listening to it. More than once.
1000 Years by JAKE
I need to know the way to have you here
Despite the rage, in spite of my fear
And I need to find the way to say it out loud
There's 1000 years between us now
JAKE is... um, well, I'm not sure how to describe them, but I love it. This is from their Snake Road CD, and I actually found this song through fic.
gossymer, I believe, is the one I need to thank for that. The fic I found it in is Breaking Masks by Josh Aterovis and Dabeagle
When Jake Sheridan decided to move far away for college, he was trying to put his past behind him and get a fresh start. He didn't know what he was getting himself into. Now he's feeling far away from everything and everyone he knows...and feeling quite lonely. Then he meets the adorably awkward kid at the coffee shop...
Kody Kingsley let his dad talk him into attending his alma mater and now he's have trouble adjusting to his new setting as well. Things are only further complicated when he finds himself attracted to the hot guy he seems to be running into everywhere he goes. If he only knew the attraction was mutual...
Um, yeah, so I'm gonna try to get motivated enough to go upstairs so I have MY computer that actually works (I HATE mom's computer) and I can sign on Y!M.
(I never thought about this 'til right now, but I'm not sure if that's supposed to be I need to know the way to have you here or I need to know the way to have you hear. Hmm.)
Also!!! Drive was cancelled! Boo on FOX! And how sad is it that my second thought after hearing that was "ooh, yay, now someone can write fanfic about what happens to the brothers after this past episode!"

Camera. Cauldron. Prefect's Bathroom.

Date: 2007-04-28 03:04 am (UTC)Colin loved his camera, even though it was Muggle. There was something about capturing a single moment in time that just called to him more than the magical photos did. One of the only things Colin disliked about his camera was the fact that it made a loud noise when the shutter clicked, and it was hard to be stealthy like that.
He had been on his way back to Gryffindor Tower from the library when he saw two Slytherins -- he was pretty sure it was Blaise and Pansy -- sneaking through the hall and carrying a cauldron. It's a Gryffindor trait to always be suspicious of Slytherins, so he followed them, but he lost them when he got held up by one of the moving staircases.
He was in front of the Prefect bathroom and heard noises from inside. Maybe it was them? He knew the password because he had pnce overheard two of the Ravenclaws arranging a rendavous. He slipped into the room silently and then froze.
This wasn't Blaise and Pansy.
And oh, how he wished his camera was silent, because the sight in front of him was full of moments just waiting to be captured.

Date: 2007-04-28 06:53 am (UTC)Damn it, I've been scoring Germany after hearing Already Gone, and I can't seem to find them. I had resigned myself to buying them from the US after I've finished my studies. (Probably still will.)
THANK YOU!!!

Date: 2007-04-28 06:40 pm (UTC)That's all the songs from the Snake Road album, but they're not in the order they are on the CD, b/c my computer alphabetized them.

Date: 2007-04-29 12:35 am (UTC)For a second I totally did not remember the rec, then I checked the site and went "oh yeah!" Yes, 'orrible, 'orrible memory. I love the way one starts trying something out and discovers even more stuff XD The world is just so shiny that way XD
Mind if I download the JAKE file too?

Date: 2007-04-29 01:42 am (UTC)And yeah, it does make the world shiny, which is AWESOME!
And FOX just pissed me off. Like with Vanished. I started watching from the pilot. I didn't really know what was going on, and I admit I watched some of it on mute, but I was watching it b/c Gale Harold is so pretty and shiny, and then they go and kill him off. Stupid.
I really really like drive. Apparently FOX does plan on showing two more episodes, but I don't know if it'll be right away. At least it'll let me know the outcome of what happened at the end of the most recent episode.
