Oh, Cobra Starship, how I love you. <333 Their new song makes me very happy.
Last night, Camisado came up on my iTunes mix, so I had to listen to all of Fever. I'd forgotten how much I actually enjoy that album.
Saw this on my flist this morning: Band Girls Big Bang is a 10,000 word writing challenge that features and focuses on the often forgotten girls of bandom. Who's gonna write me epic Greta/Alex Greenwald to go with that? *g* (Or Brendon/Cassadee? WHAT? I don't have to make sense!)
I didn't see SPN last night, but I don't like the reactions I saw to the episode so I'm not too sad I missed it.
I'm working my way through (the master list is here -- voting closes 11:59 pm EST on Tuesday, May 12th) so I have a few recs from that (and a couple from OWL):

Pansy's Baby by southernwitch
Pansy learns prejudice is hard to elude, even as a married Malfoy. Discrimination destroys lives. Will she be able to handle the truth once it's known?
This one is definitely a brilliant piece of work. I'm not sure what to say in response to this.
Call Me After Midnight by amischa
One late night, Harry gets a call from the person he least expects: Draco Malfoy. A drunken call. Harry is unable to stop Draco coming to his home, the Burrow, and there Draco proceeds to pour out his doubts about his upcoming marriage and express his gratitude to Harry, leading to unexpected results.
This manages to be epilogue-compliant and still fills my desire for H/D. Kinda heartbreaking.

There are some things that will always belong to them.
This piece is three simple frames, but there is a lot of emotion packed into it. It made me wanna tear up. A very lovely little piece.
Edgar, the Niffler - a HP/DM story by
leochi
Harry lives peacefully in the country with his sheep and his pet niffler, Edgar - but one day a well-known blond turns up and Edgar is delighted...
This video is setup like a children's story book. I found it to be beyond adorable. It's obvious the artist put a lot into it.

Draco's in a race against the clock and all Harry wants to do is distract him.
This one is an excellent blend of humor and serious, and Draco is snarky and confident and awesome. Definitely going on my favorites list.
The Familiar Familiar by

In which Draco learns that not all seers are frauds, and not all former enemies are as insufferable as they once seemed.
I found this to be very cute and sweet, but still in character for both boys.

I'm kinda not feeling the bandom love right now so Idk that I want to attempt it.

Date: 2009-05-08 06:59 pm (UTC)Also, I want Panic to make an announcement re: the No Doubt show. PATDonline says they got confirmation from the band's management that they ARE doing the show, but there's been radio silence from any band members, which does not make me confident. Need to book airfare and hotel. >:/
