I think that it's kinda hard to classify most American's perceptions as being the same/similar, just because we are so vastly different. I mean, I do believe that in general Americans are very self-centered, we focus on America and don't tend to notice what's going outside of our own country. We are a very me-oriented, entitlest society as a whole. I don't think religion has a lot to do with that. I do think that some Americans see the rest of the world as inferior rather than just different. Personally, I know that a lot of people in this area (the valley where I live) don't have much opinion of people or events outside of us. This is our lives; anything that doesn't directly influence us isn't our concern.
