I wasn't going to do this, b/c I really don't want anything, but I'm doing it anyway.

Step One

- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friends friends, or just random journals, or wish_list) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My Wish List

1. Make someone else on LJ smile -- go leave comments, give anon lj gifts, send ecards, browse around and see if you can grant wishes on someone else's wishlists.

2. a new LJ layout that's MINE. I keep stealing them from gossymer over at noveltybox, but someone (*ahem*failylittleteenagers*ahem*) has been saying they were going to make me one for YEARS (really!) and hasn't done it. The problem is, I'm the queen of indecision. I'm really SO EASY! Don't ask me what I want, just surprise me. I'm pretty open about what I like, right?

3. personalized LJ icons. I love the ones that I have, like my default, but I'd like a few more that are just MINE. With or without my name. Again, I am so easy to please.

4. MUSIC MIXES! Yall, I love music. And I love hearing what yall are listening too. SHARE! Upload on LJ or send me a real CD, whatever. :) (I am currently listening the Very Bandom Christmas CD that I got from ltlredhairdgirl)

5. Charms for my charm necklace. (from the idea started by pecos years ago. Pick out a charm that you'd like me to have. A rock, a little medallion, a symbol...something unique to where you live or that means something specific to you. A pretty bead from Manila, a bit of Lapis from my friend in Chile, a little reindeer from Finland, an aboriginal design from Australia. Use your imagination! Make sure that it's small enough to fit on a chain, like the ones Orli (haha, oh lotr fandom, ilu) wears. Say the size of a US Quarter or a 20 Pence piece or smaller. It's going to be with a bunch of others on a necklace (if I get lucky). Nothing expensive or particularly valuable, please. And don't splurge on postage. Make sure it'll fit in an envelope or send it surface. Cost should be minimal, thought and heart should not! Include a note explaining what you've chosen, why you picked it, what it meant to you - anything like that!)

6. Snail mail cards! The boys LOVE to open mail, and most of the time holiday cards are pretty safe (I know some of you well enough to know not to the let kids open anything from you). Plus, they look pretty on my stairs.

7. A picture of you with a bow on your head! :) I'M SERIOUS! Yall are the best present I have ever gotten and I'd like to have a collage of photos of my friends.

8. Clip & save the Box Tops for Education and/or the Labels for Education and donate them to a local school. (Our local libraries have collection boxes for these things, I don't know if it's the same in other states. Or just feel free to send them to me and help my kids earn more prizes and raise money for their school, lol.)

9. Make a donation of time, money, services, goods, whatever to a local food bank, animal rescue, charity of some sort.

10. Come make my decisions for me; I don't know what to do!
