I'm trying to refrain from starting every post here and every letter to my prison penpals with "sorry, things have been crazy lately," because things are always crazy and I just need to accept that it's my new normal and roll with the chaos. Not that anyone is reading these posts anyway.

I know I've kinda been using this as a way to track what I've been watching/reading this year. My fic recs/links/whatever are privated, because whatever. Ronnie and I went and saw Alien for the 40th anniversary. I missed the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot because it was a double feature and no one wanted to do that on a school night. I took Larkin to see Adams Family, which was cute enough. I took Illy and Luna to see Artic Dogs, which was also cute enough. We saw previews for Frozen 2 and the new Trolls movie, which I think we'll like better. Davey and I finally saw Zombieland Double Tap this past weekend, which I liked. I had heard mixed reactions, but it's not like I was expecting grand cinema or anything.

Amy and I watched Dumplin the other night, which I enjoyed more than I had thought I would. Finally watched Capsized, which I only knew about because Tyler Blackburn is in it. I've got a few movies on DVR that I need to catch up on, like the newest Critters movie and I think a SyFy or two.

I'm watching the challenges on Survivor, and sometimes the tribal, just so mom can talk to me about it. Watching the Chicago shows, though I'm kinda meh about Med and Fire, and if Jesse Lee Soffer leaves PD, I'm out. I did watch Halloween Wars and Halloween Baking Championship and Haunted Gingerbread Championship. I'm not a big fan of all the holiday cooking shows. Looking forward to the Great Food Truck Race that's coming up. New shows, I really like All Rise, like Evil though it freaks me out, and like Stumptown well enough but wouldn't be fussed without it. I'm watching Supernatural for the final season, and I really liked the first episode where the old ghosts were coming back. I'm watching Hawaii 5-0 because it's comfortable. And 911. Eddie and Buck are killing me. Ridiculous boys. I love them.

I just finished reading Jay Baruchel's Born Into It (loved it) and a collection of essays about women in the bible and the church.

I was planning on doing NaNo this year - honestly just a collection of stories from my life and such, for the kids - but haven't managed to start yet. Oops.

Davey's got some college applications submitted and did his SATs. The season starts this week. Practice, at least. The first actual match is Dec 4. But he has to be at weight by like next week? And he's about 10 pounds over. Idk if he's decided to go up a weight class or is going to drop it. He did decide that he's not going to states this year, because it's the same week as the NYC trip for choir, and he wants to focus more on choir. So he went to Coach and talked to him, so that they could plan on preparing another kid in his weight class to earn points for the team and go to states. Davey still plans on winning tournaments though. He's in three choral classes this year - concert choir, chorale, and Salem Singers - and made all district choir. He job shadowed the choir teacher at the middle school last week and earlier this week did a college visit to Bridgewater and shadowed a music major. He's leaning toward music education. Bridgewater and Manchester are his two top picks for colleges, though he might do his two years at VWCC first because he can qualify for two years free community college based on his gpa. Manchester has a wrestling team though. In addition to school, choir, and wrestling, he's working three days a week (though they try to call him in like every single day he's scheduled off), teaching Sunday school, active with Camp Bethel, and on the Church Board. And teaching himself guitar and keyboard. He makes me tired.

Ronnie is working in the service department at work and will take the state inspector license test for the second time later this month. He got a project truck for a graduation gift from one of his uncles, so he's been working on both trucks a lot. Miranda is working full time at the daycare at her church and doing online VWCC classes. They spend half their time here and half their time at Miranda's mom's house. Miranda gets all upset everytime one of us tells them they're not ready to move out yet. The fact that she pretty much throws a toddler tantrum when we talk about it kinda proves our point.

Bebout dropped out of school to sell drugs and basically breaks my heart on a daily basis.

I'm going to fire Harley because her girls still end up with lice every couple of weeks. It's been FIVE FREAKING YEARS that we've been dealing with this. The girls are doing well in school when they get to go though. Illiana is hitting the preteen years so her stubborn is compounded and it's frustrating. Luna is a hot mess sassypants.

Mom's got two more chemo treatments and she's done. Her CT came back clear and she's been released by both her surgeons, so that's good. She is back to her negative, complainy, honestly aggravating self, which is good in a way because it means she's feeling better, but it also means I can't stand being around her much.

I got to spend the weekend in VA Beach with Amy and her family, lazing around and doing a lot of nothing, which was FANTASTIC. I'm still crazy, still dealing with migraines, and still overweight, so there's that.
