I think I may have hit my head on my shoe?

No, srsly, I was in the backseat & had my bag in the floorboard & my feet on top of it & I wasn't wearing my seatbelt b/c I had just gotten in the car & was putting on my shoes, and I think that's what caused this gigantic bruise on my head.

I missed my flight at the airport & they put me on a later one, but the original flight ended up going to Charlotte and then turning around b/c of thunderstorms. Then they ended up rushing to reboard them about 20 minutes after they deboarded and put the 5 of us who were supposed to be on the second flight to Charlotte on the same plane. And of course we had to run from one end of the terminal to the other to make our connecting flight.

But I am safely at [livejournal.com profile] wendy's house now, and I got hugs from her and [livejournal.com profile] phaballa and got to love on Max and Val a bit, and turned my phone on when I landed to find I already have a wealth of birthday wishes via txt/email/facebook. Now I have water and tylenol and am going to bed.

I was thinking earlier that I really need to learn how to Apparate, but I was also thinking that I kinda wished we could communicate with our minds, and idk if I was thinking of a mix of "psychically" and "telepathically", but I was thinking of texting [livejournal.com profile] eckerlilas that sometimes I wished we could all communicate psychopathically. Idek, I think maybe I was partly dreaming, even though I was trying my hardest to stay awake on the plane b/c of the head injury.

For those of you who didn't email, here was my day:

So, today has been a day from hell. Work was shit, and I'm hoping some time away will make me either realize that I do like my job and want to keep it, or that I need to find something else. Took the boys to drop them off at Pam's and while we were bringing their stuff in from the car, Pam accidentally locked us out of the apartment. Then my car wouldn't start. So Harley was going to drive me to the airport and we were in an accident. I'm not even sure what happened, but one minute I was putting my shoes on in the backseat and the next our car was under the ass end of a Suburban. Everyone is okay, Harley & Johnathan are a little cut up from the glass & bruised from the seatbelts and airbags. Illy's carseat & base didn't even move, and three different EMTs checked her out b/c me & Harley & Johnathan were freaking out about her. I have a huge bump on my head & knocked a tooth out & am so not okay emotionally right now, but I'll be alright. I did miss my flight - just barely b/c they were rain delayed and I got here as they were closing the door and leaving. So I was on a later flight & that story continues at the top of this post.

Oh, but on the flight from Charlotte to DFW, there was this little boy that sat beside me. He was adorable and like 7 or 8 and played pokemon cards and tic tac toe with me for part of the flight.

I've been looking at Amtrak info, trying to determine my options if I wanna make a long weekend trip to NYC sometime. Also, have been trying to tell myself that just because Drive A and Dommin (and HIM) are playing on a Saturday night in Baltimore doesn't mean I need to go.

I'm feeling superlazy today. I need to do housework, but it takes too much effort. I did do dishes and go pick up the stroller I had bought for Illy and went to the boys' last basketball game and went for lunch at Cici's. I want a nap but I'm gonna just chill here with my laptop instead. I have a stack of drabbles I've been fooling around with that I'm thinking of typing up and posting, if I don't get too distracted.

My back already hurts from holding Davey the other night, but my cousin is having a birthday party for her two kids at the skate center tomorrow afternoon and I already said I would skate with them. Another cousin is having a birthday party for his youngest on Monday afternoon, also at the skate center. Fun times, yall, really.

p.s. I found Cry Baby in the $3.50 movies bin at Walmart this afternoon, lol. I have no idea where my original vhs copy is, so I had to buy it. Did I imagine that there was a Bandom Cry Baby AU? Maybe it was something we talked about in an email thread one day or something, but I remember it from somewhere.

Chilling in our room at the Showboat Casino with work!Amy & [livejournal.com profile] thebunnyknows. Tired but omg so happy. :) Despite the traffic & the slight freakout (yall have MET me, right? I freak out over ridiculous things), it was an awesome night. Did get to catch most of Drive A's set (baby band!), got to meet [livejournal.com profile] valerie_z & her friend, got to meet [livejournal.com profile] sinsense. Got hugs from said girls, as well as hugs passed on by them from [livejournal.com profile] jackiesjunkie & [livejournal.com profile] apiphile. Quite possibly traumatized work!Amy since I didn't even mention fandom to her before today. THE USED! Do I even need to say that they put on a kick ass show? I didn't think so. Me & Amy & [livejournal.com profile] thebunnyknows bought the tour download cards (yes, again!) to meet the band & have them autograph the tshirt Amy got for herself & the hoodie she got for her hubby, and some girl gave [livejournal.com profile] sinsense their card so she was with us. Really, we all know I shouldn't talk to people anyway and that Quinn makes me flustered, and so of course Quinn was the first one in line. Whatever. I love them. <33333

[livejournal.com profile] sinsense is safely on a bus back home. I hope, anyway, b/c she is supposed to be. She is made of win, btw, and I am so so so glad to have gotten to see her tonight.

We are going to get up to some sort of shenanigans tomorrow, but we're not sure what. Hope yall are having an awesome weekend! <3

Apparently it's [livejournal.com profile] fiddleyoumust's birthday? HAPPY BIRTHDAY! <3

My kid is so sweet sometimes, yall. They were doing a thing at the school where they were collecting the leftover/extra halloween candy to include in treat bags for the troops, and Mom said she split up the community candy to send to school with the boys, and Davey dumped his ENTIRE HALLOWEEN STASH into his bag to donate. I mean, he hadn't touched it at all since Halloween so obviously he wasn't eating it, but still. So sweet.

I'm back home, obviously. And sooooo tired today. I'm not sure why. When I got to work this morning, I was told I would get pulled off the phone and trained for off-phone work and that I'd be doing off-phone work all week (YAY!) but I didn't actually get pulled for training until after 2, and then my macros wouldn't work so I couldn't do the off phone work anyway. (but we are super super slow this week b/c most of our calls are being routed to one of the other centers, so I have time between calls which means I'm texting people under my desk all sneaky-like and have my porn writing notebook open beside me.) But I did get to spend the last hour of the day counting food for the food drive competition at work. My team is currently in second place, and we didn't cheat by buying the big packs of ramen noodles or AN ENTIRE BOX OF KOOLAID PACKETS, wtf. And we have until Friday, so that's a plus.

Um, quick recap of the rest of my weekend: Saturday was spent at [livejournal.com profile] eckerlilas's house with [livejournal.com profile] irisgirl12000, [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow, [livejournal.com profile] shutyourface, [livejournal.com profile] vic_ramsey, and [livejournal.com profile] kylieq. We watched the Ten Commandments Musical with Adam Lambert. I have to say, my life will never be the same. Sunday was a lazy kinda day. Got up and had pancakes with [livejournal.com profile] irisgirl12000 and her hubby and [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow before [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow had to leave to drive home, then me and [livejournal.com profile] irisgirl12000 watched a ridiculously horrible movie on SyFy that was pretty epically awful and neverending, then watched Supernatural. And went for lunch. Then I had to go home. :( I did succeed in avoiding to have a conversation with ANYONE at the airports and on my flights, so I totally count that as a win.

I have a crapload of school papers to review and sign, and I swear the kids got half a dozen birthday party invites in the mail while I was gone. Kids are so damn expensive!

I had something else to say, but apparently it was either a lie or else unimportant, because I forgot it.

Here, have some music: Drive A - Loss of Desire

So, I just typed up an lj post & went to post it & got an "oops" msg. Wtfh? Let's see if I can remember it.

DAN WHITESIDES IS TOTALLY TINY! HE WOULD TOTALLY FIT IN THE TRUNK! I was actually gonna tweet yesterday about how we were cleaning out the trunk so we could kidnap a drummer, but I figured it could possibly misconstrued. Or properly construed, whatever. (Also, I have no idea how to spell "construed" lol)

I'm not quite sure why [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow and I don't have a Dan sandwich (b/c he would totally fit!), but I guess it's for the best. I wouldn't wanna deprive those of you who haven't seen them yet of Dan. Even if Dan the Man Who Can cannot toss a drumstick in the air and catch it 2/3 of the time. Although, at the Dallas show we watched him break a drumstick, toss it over his shoulder, and grab another one to keep going without ever missing a beat. HOT. Fucking drummers, idek.

I'm not gonna go into actual concert recaps, but I'll hit the highlights?

Got to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] wendy on Thursday. And her puppies. I really wish she lived closer to me or vice versa because hanging out with her is always fabulous and she is the awesomest of the awesome. Also, she got a call with a job offer like right as she was coming to pick me up, so YAY WENDY! And I find myself saying "interesting" as an acknowledgement statement, which is totally a wendy-thing. :)

We went to lunch with [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow and her sister [livejournal.com profile] shamrocks15, and then later I met up with them to go get lost in Dallas before we found the HoB.

I still think Drive A is adorable. Even more adorable was the fact that their grandparents were at the Dallas show. Seriously, cutest thing EVER.

I have nothing amusing or positive to say about The Almost other than the fact that they soundtracked the tambourine.

THE USED. Yeah, I love them. <3333 Um. Quinn's hair was all sticking up everywhere and there was some red lighting on the stage that made him look like he had little devil horns. He is precious, btw. Um. There was Bert creeping [livejournal.com profile] shamrocks15 out with his crazy Michael Jackson hat. And Jepha being hot sticky sex. Or, you know, being Jepha. And Quinn quinncerting himself into the Dan\Jepha OTP, which made [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow all "Back the fuck off, Allman!" and highly amused me.

We were gonna stalk the buses afterward but there was this random older man there who had skipped bail to bring his daughter to the concert & get her barrier. And he was talking to his girlfriend on the phone, trying to get other people to tell her to fuck her husband and come see him instead.

Oh, and before the show we saw Dan and some of the other guys playing kickball behind the venue. :)

[livejournal.com profile] shamrocks15 is pretty damn awesome, I'm glad to have met her. Praise Jesus! Also, there were four twelve of them motherfuckers, I shit you not!

Friday, me and [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow drove from Dallas to Houston (without getting lost!) and plotted (hahaha) ridiculous fic (SHUT UP AND TAKE OFF YOUR PANTS!) and talked about fic that needs to be finished and talked about other random shit. And we got passed by Drive A in their little van. In my head that totally means they had to hang out in Dallas to have lunch with their grandparents and then haul tail to make it to Houston on time.

Met up with [livejournal.com profile] irisgirl12000 & [livejournal.com profile] vic_ramsey & Cody-whose-lj-idk[livejournal.com profile] mercurybard (thanks [livejournal.com profile] arielchan!). And [livejournal.com profile] shutyourface joined us later. We found seats in the balconey with an awesome view. Drive A is still adorable, fyi. They aren't a band that would have ever caught my interest if I hadn't seen them live, but I really adore them right now.

Bert McCracken is CRAZYCAKES and TINY and ADORABLE. Seriously, he reminds me of one of those little yappy dogs that things they're big deal. He told us about his itchy balls, and did a little Michael Jackson dance, and told everyone that if they didn't have the album to go out and steal that shit from Walmart & say he said it was all cool, and was generally adorable and entertaining. And he let Quinn talk which... ahaha, no. Oh Quinn. <3 Oh, and he had Dan drumming out random shit. That was pretty amusing. Dan and Jepha are still hot. Color me surprised.
After the show, we waited for M&G. Heather bought one of the tour album download card things & I still had mine from the Baltimore show. Only one person was allowed per card, so [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow had to wait outside for us & I told her I'd get my card signed for her. We were told they had black and silver sharpies so Heather was going to get them to sign her hoodie. So we go in and Quinn had a black sharpie & was signing my card with it & we asked him and he was like "no, we're out of silver ones" even though there were like six on the table and Heather asked if they could make their autographs stand out and Bert just jumped into their conversation and was like "sure we can make them stand out!" (and Dan tossed Quinn a silver sharpie & Quinn was like "it's probably out, it's only good for like 30 signings." Oh my god. Quinn, I'm fondly amused of you being a grumpy difficult bitch with an adorable grin, and also proud of you for making complete coherent sentences.) and so I moved on to Jepha, who was sitting on the other end of the table and we were making small talk while he signed my card & he was like "you're missing a couple people on here" b/c I only had Quinn & his autographs. So I told him Heather was a line jumper & he was like "Damn you, Heather!" And Heather had no idea what we were talking about, she just heard us say her name, so that was even more amusing.

We also caught up with Dan outside by the buses for pictures. HE IS REALLY SO SO TINY! OMG! [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow told him not to drink in her picture, and Dan had to tell me how to work the camera because I'm retarded. And then [livejournal.com profile] irisgirl12000 & I got pictures too.

And we went for food & went home to [livejournal.com profile] irisgirl12000's house and [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow & I were acting like giggly 13yo girls and also tweeting each other from the same bed.

Okay, now we're having fangirl hang times and I'm gonna go steal [livejournal.com profile] eckerlilas's baby from [livejournal.com profile] vic_ramsey and hold him. :)

Chicago: City of Bandboys and [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge. And a few other members of my flist. And Nick Scimeca. Too bad I'm only here to spend a couple hours in the airport. :)

As I was scrolling through my twitter friends list trying to find [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge's name, my crackberry froze on @weareempires. Haha. I keep saying I'm gonna end up flying to Chicago to see them, but today is not that day.

If I were to be making a happy list for today, it would include the very sweet elderly gentleman who is heading to South Dakota to visit his grandkids and who I did a crossword puzzle with on the flight from Roanoke to Chicago. And maybe the guy behind me with the two extremely adorable, extremely well behaved little boys. The dad read them Thomas the Train books nearly the entire flight, complete with voices and sound effects.

HEY GUESS WHAT! IN... 7 HOURS I GET ON A PLANE AND LEAVE MY LITTLE CORNER OF NOWHERE FOR THE WEEKEND! (yes, I really am this lame but seriously! I live in Smalltown USA and I'm so so easy. So YES! I really am this excited!)

And tomorrow I get a [livejournal.com profile] wendy (and a Max and a Val for doggie cuddles, yes?) and a [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow and BERTQUINNJEPHADAN!

And Friday I get a mini road trip with [livejournal.com profile] snarkyrainbow and then I get [livejournal.com profile] irisgirl12000 and [livejournal.com profile] shutyourface and [livejournal.com profile] vic_ramsey and possibly [livejournal.com profile] eckerlilas! And more BERTQUINNJEPHADAN!

And this weekend we get fangirl times and I get to meet [livejournal.com profile] eckerlilas's little ones (yay babies! guess I should get back into the practice, huh?) and I'M RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY ABOUT THIS!!!

Um. Yeah. :) That is all, back to your regularly scheduled LJing now.

(ps if you gave me a drabble prompt yesterday, it is either written in my notebook or being thought out in my head for me to write tomorrow while I'm killing time at the airport and/or on the plane and while I am busily avoiding contact with strangers because people freak me the fuck out!)
why_me_why_not: (fog)
So, we had a bit of an adventure tonight.

Quick note: I know most people don't visit graves, for whatever reason. I also don't talk about my personal religious beliefs on here, mainly because I believe faith is a deeply personal thing, and I know what I believe and that's enough for me. But I do visit my daughter's grave on a regular basis. It's not that it makes me feel close to her there, because I know she's always with me. I think at first it was just somewhere to go where I could be left alone. But it's also always been a way to keep the boys connected with their sister. They love to pick out flowers/balloons/toys/whatever to take to her. (Also, she's part of their everyday lives too. Quite often when strange things happen, they blame their sister. They like to write their name and draw hearts on balloons and let them go to the sky. Kelly Marie regularly steals balloons if we don't give them to her, lol.)

Anyway, Kelly Marie's 10th birthday is next Friday, and I won't be able to make it to Blacksburg then, so we went up there this evening. Harley was driving because I'm an awesome sister, and maybe a little because I like to freak my mom out (my mom still covers her eyes when I merge onto the interstate and I've been driving since I was 12, she's so much worse with Harley driving). We get to Bburg and park the car, and I left my phone on the seat because I had been texting on the drive up and I didn't need my phone. Harley left the keys on the driver's seat of the van (I tend to leave them in the ignition most of the time. The bad habits you pick up living in a small town.) and she and I got about ten feet from the van and heard the 'click' of the automatic locks. We both stopped, looked at each other, and looked back at the van. We had all the windows up because we'd bought balloons so the A/C was a better option coming up the road.

So, my van is locked, with my keys and my phone inside it, in a cemetery. At dusk.

My brother came to rescue us, since he has the spare key to my car (yall know that story right? keys locked in my car with the car running at 3am in the firelane at walmart in the rain?), but he took like two hours to get there. Bburg is only half an hour away from me, but he had to finish up cheer practice and go get the key and get my mom's car b/c his didn't have enough gas and then there was road work on the interstate. Blah.

It's not like we were in the middle of nowhere -- the cemetery is blocks away from downtown Blacksburg and Virginia Tech -- but it was still creepy, especially with the almost-full moon and the way it was getting dark and chilly. And we were walking around looking at the other stones (my kids love to go walking "in the dead people's place") and there was one that just said "3 unknowns, Rt 114, 1986" and it seriously gave both me and Harley chills. Also, the kids and I went to the opposite end of the cemetery to find Michael Whitaker's grave, which led to me talking about him and Judd, and then about Davey (my ex-hubby's best friend who was murdered the summer I was pregnant with Kelly Marie -- he's the one Davey is name after, obviously).

Anyway, it was pretty creepy, lol. The boys said Kelly Marie just wanted her Uncle RT to come see her. Idk. But it was an adventure. Especially with the boys being them and talking about zombies and vampires and things.

Also, Johnathan is a cheater. He cheated at bowling this afternoon and still lost. (okay, so we were using bumper guards, so we were both cheating, kinda. but he was using the kiddie ramp!) Then we were all taking turns playing air hockey and he was trying to distract me so Harley would win, and he had me laughing because he was all "I'm gonna distract you so your sister can win, lalala, how can I distract you?" and then he's like "OH! I know how to distract you! BertQuinnJephaDan!" Loser. Well, in this case the loser was ME b/c Harley got the game-winning point after that b/c I was laughing too hard to even see the puck, but whatever.

OH AND GUESS WHAT???? I got the other UHG job! So starting Tuesday (Monday is a holiday, and also Harley's 16th bday!) I'm back to working 8:30 to 5. YAYES!!!

P.S. COME PLAY WITH ME!
