I am disappointed in the outcome of the Great Food Truck Race. Ugh.

I was worried about being disappointed in Leverage: Redemption so was hesitant to watch it, but some of my favorite peoples seemed to like it, so I started watching it the other night when Davey had the evening off. It is still fun and mostly has the same feel of the original. I don't dislike Breanna, but I miss Hardison. Eliot/Hardison/Parker is the OT3 of my heart. I love that Parker is still so Parker and that Eliot is still so grumpy. (I have watched Librarians multiple times between the original show and this one, so it still trips me up to see Noah Wyle and Christian Kane in these characters instead of as Flynn and Stone.)

I've been watching Z Nation and just started season 4. I think I'm going to give it up (even though I love Doc and 10K and Addy) and pretend it ended after two seasons. Season 4 is dumb, and most of season 3 was too except for the episode with Skeezy and Sketchy.

I saw Black Widow! I'm so glad the theaters are open again, lol, I have missed them. I've seen six movies in the last two weeks.

There are like 9 days left to register for 2021 GISH! We still have room on our team if anyone wants to join! Team Rocksalt

A Nightingale Sang in Hell's Kitchen by PixelByPixel
Daredevil, Good Omens || Matt Murdock/Franklin "Foggy" Nelson || 12k
Sure, a new bookstore had just sprung up overnight in Hell's Kitchen and Matt Murdock was kind of freaked out about the things (apparently not human) that were running it, but Foggy Nelson was more concerned with whether he should tell his best friend he was in love with him.

Experimentation by portraitofemmy
Magicians || Quentin Coldwater/Eliot Waugh || 4812
“I don’t think I’m into this,” Quentin says, and there’s something in his voice that catches Eliot’s interest. Something almost pleading. Like he wants to be told he’s wrong.
“Oh, honey,” Eliot says, absolutely and totally failing to avoid using his Daddy voice because this guy is just– He’s just so fucking cute. “Just because you don’t want to tie up your girlfriend doesn’t mean you can’t make use of the toys. Have you ever thought about trying it the other way around?”

Leave the Light On (I'll Be Coming Home) by HMSLusitania
9-1-1 || Evan "Buck" Buckley/Eddie Diaz, Christopher Diaz || 44k
An accident on a call leaves Buck with custody of Chris after Eddie is... missing presumed.
While they navigate their new family circumstances -- and fight to stay together, despite Eddie's parents' best efforts -- a John Doe wakes up in a coma ward with no memory of his own life beyond the knowledge he has a son named Christopher and, somehow, he needs to get home.

Shane Claiborne said on twitter this week: "Christianity is not just a ticket into heaven and an excuse to ignore the world we live in. Our faith is about transforming the world... not escaping it. We want to see God's dream come 'on earth as it is in Heaven.'" (of course, Jarrod McKenna recently said "We're not called to transform the world - that's the Holy Spirit's work. We're called to love." Although these sound contradictory at first glace, I think they actually work together. We transform the world by love and the Holy Spirit works through us and that love.)

Judith Painter, a teacher from Andrew Lewis Middle School, has been to receive the Distinguished Teacher Award for K-12 from teh National Council for Geographic Education. Mrs Painter taught both my kids, and we love her. Here's an article from earlier this year about a trip she took to Antarctic last year through a National Geographic fellowship program.

Hawkguy and the Devil by titC
Marvel || Clint Barton/Matt Murdock || 35k
It began like a lot of these things began for Clint: with a beautiful lady knocking on his door and asking for help.

Life of Crime by neveralarch
Marvel || Clint Barton/Natasha Romanov, James "Bucky" Barnes/Clint Barton/Natasha Romanov, James "Bucky" Barnes/Clint Barton, Clint Barton/Carol Danvers, Kate Bishop/America Chavez || 35k
A supervillain AU where Clint shoots arrows at people and gets beat up a lot. So, not really that much of an AU.
As a supervillain supercriminal contract worker with a morality deficit, Clint Barton leads a glamorous life. You know, stolen cars, dangerous women, a really confusing relationship with a meddling do-gooder, the works. It's pretty awesome. Except for, uh, medical bills, the mob, and being on the run all the time. That part isn't all that awesome.

Fun read, lots of snark.

My meds are supposed to help me focus, but since I was off them for a while, there's a readjustment period. So my brain is completely scattered and it's ridiculous.

So yeah, I did get my meds. Cost me $164, but I got them.

[livejournal.com profile] pecos has the most awesome handwriting, I love getting cards from her.

I found my Christmas cards! Lol. If you're not US, your card may be late. B/c I'm a failboat.

My baby brother has started calling me the Queen of Fail, so most of my txts to him lately start off with "so the latest update to my epic saga of fail is..."

I think we talked about this once before, but are Yetis like Wendigos with fur? They're not superhuman fast, but I blame that on the snow. Yes, I watched winter disaster movies all day on SyFy on Saturday. What of it?

For the handful of you who listen to country music, have you heard the new Sugarland song? That's my song. I love it. I may musicshare it later.

Who watched Leverage last night? Parker was super adorable as an elf, and grumpy!Santa!Eliot made my night.

So, my Monday sucked so hard. Tell me good things about your life?

There is, as always, a growing list of things I wanna say to yall and don't have the time or appropriate internet access to be able to do it. And I know yall are tired of hearing me whine. Poor me.

[livejournal.com profile] irisgirl12000 was telling me an awesome story of GK-characters in a Robin Hood Prince of Thieves AU with Brad as Maid Marion. Tell me that's not awesome. :)

The only fic I've read in a while was a. Brad/Ray this weekend, and I really enjoyed it. I'll find the link if you're interested.

I'm really liking The Walking Dead, but am content to discuss it offline (my brother + several of my friends are watching), since [livejournal.com profile] shutyourface doesn't like the Z word.

Castle is my favorite thing on TV right now, I'm watching Criminal Minds b/c Reid & Morgan & Garcia will never not make me happy, I'm voting for Brandy & Maks on DWTS ("Stars with the Dancing!", as my kid calls it) b/c I like Maks (and Anna, but she & Kurt are my second choice, I think), I missed the most recent ep of SPN but Sammy is pissing me off and I still am not impressed with the idea of S6 even though we're halfway through it, no one is my favorite on Survivor, the dad & daughter team on Amazing Race is my favorite there (I loved the Glee boys before they got eliminated!), and Psych has new episodes starting this week! Also, I saw previews for the upcoming new eps of Leverage, so that's YAY!

I have tix for the midnight show of DH, and plans for meeting up with a group for that. One of you linked to an article/interview with the boy who plays Dudley Dursley, and then Matthew Lewis was tweeting about Tom Felton being on his TV and he tried to call him but Tom has his phone off, and really, all our fandoms are the most adorkable people in them.

Twitter seems to be my only link to the world lately. Brian Schechter, Gabe Saporta, Jason Nott, MGG, Kirsten Vangness, Tom Conrad, and a few others are keeping me quite entertained, even if I can't remember the reasons why off the top of my head. Plus, the pics of Bden (who is still my favorite!) from Halloween and of Stark Sands as Justin Bieber totally made me laugh.

Um, what else... Oh yeah! Best of luck to all of you doing NaNo!

I'm not following the MCR craze. I'm just not feeling it.

My holiday wish list: jeans (I'm down to one pair - I had the worst day at work last Wed b/c I had a hole in the back of my pants and if I pulled my top shirt down to cover it my bra straps would show, and on top of that I started my period. Superblah!), getting to see AI (really, it's so unfair that everyone else has seen it multiple times! *whines*), and books (Pass the Parcel, Dragonsoul, the 3rd book in the Looking Glass Wars series, Jim Butcher's Side Jobs).

Fucking A, I just accidentally erased the rest of what I was gonna say. Stupid crackberry.

G'night, loves, hope yall have an excellent start to your week! <3

Since Indiana is too far to drive for dinner (dammit, [livejournal.com profile] sxysadie21!), I guess I'm going to have to cook for myself. Steaks on the grill, mashed potatoes, baby carrots with brown sugar, butter bread. And lemon meringue pie for dessert. Yum.

Also, I now have a/c in my bedroom! I am undoubtedly excited by this.

Am still trying to recover from the sun and the fun yesterday. The kids had a blast at the lake, and I had fun sitting under a shade tree and texting [livejournal.com profile] irisgirl12000. The race was pretty ridiculous. All four races last night had a caution in the last lap and had to end with green-white-checkers. idek. Taylor finished 7th in his race. He's had a pretty shitty season. He's still got a bigger fan club than most of the racers, though, so I guess it's okay. His friend Travis (who races in a different class) was pushed into a wall by another driver, and for a minute we thought there was going to be a fight on the track. Someone managed to calm that down though.

Christian Kane tweeted that tonight's Leverage "Won't dissapoint. If you are a Hardison/Eliot fan, Well, I'll just say ur in for a treat!!!" Um, I don't think Hardison/Eliot means the same thing to him as it does to us, but I am still very much amused.

I have to go back to work in the morning and am sooo not looking forward to it. Blah. I'm just... I hate that we're fucking people over, and it's not like the previous call center work I've done, where fucking people over means that someone isn't getting their stupid sweater and cookware shipment on time or that they're going to have to pay extra for local channels with satellite. This now is fucking people over with regards to their prescription medications, and even better a lot of the stuff we can't do anything about because it's MEDICARE guidelines. I need to find a new job ASAP.

Also, Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium is like Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes without all the explosions. :P

After work last night, I met up with Mom & the boys at the Red Sox game, then came home and watched Leverage (!!!! Christian fucking Kane, YUM!) and went to bed. This morning I had assessment testing for another job at 830, so I got no online time. But I did get drabbles written for all the prompts yall left me, including the Ryro one, lol. I also have a Sookie Stackhouse book to read today, but I can't do that for 8 hrs. So, more prompts? Please?
