I owe some replies to the awesome and sweet comments on my last post, but I've feeling shitty over that whole situation (and the added issue with Ralph), plus I've been busy with birthday parties (Ava and Neville) and sleeping more than is healthy. I'm not really sure what's been going on the past few days other than that.

Clint and Phil have most of their meaningful conversations over fries and milkshakes.

Substituting names in romance novel summaries with fandom pairings: Clint/Coulson Edition

Too Many Grooms: When daredevil Clint Barton was told he was dying, he did the honorable thing - and jilted Phil Coulson so he wouldn't have to witness his demise. Trouble was, two years later Clint felt downright healthy. And when he realized he'd been misdiagnosed, he was fit to kill. Clint found Phil again, but his longtime sweetheart was in a wedding tux - and at the altar! No doubt he was still furious about how Clint had vanished, but Clint was ready to do anything to win his heart again. So he shoved aside groom number two and whisked Phil back down the aisle before he could say I do.

When the Lights Go Out: Phil Coulson isn't thrilled his roommate's arranged a blind date for him. It also doesn't help that his roommate forgot to tell Phil the date's name, so when he runs into a sexy stranger in the building during a blackout, Phil assumes it's him. Luckily, he's hot. So hot, Phil sheds both his inhibitions and his clothes! But when the lights come back on, Phil finds he wasn't his date after all... Getting stuck in an elevator isn't how reporter Clint Barton expected to meet his date. He's especially surprised when the cute stranger propositions him that same evening. Fortunately, Clint has always had trouble saying no. Then, when he finds out he slept with the wrong man, Clint doesn't think there's a problem. Now he just has to convince Phil how right things can be between them.

A Little Bit Dangerous: When undercover agent Phil Coulson walked away from Clint Barton, he left him with nothing but a broken heart. But when they reunited, neither one was prepared for the feelings that still existed - or for the truth lurking beneath the surface.

Eager and Eligible: Did you say hot sex? Thanks to a shipboard hypnotist, those very words transform prim-and-proper Phil Coulson into a Sexy Stripper. Easygoing Clint Barton has no idea what he's walked into when he rescues a boa-clad man from someone dressed as Pepe Le Pew. But as the feathers fly and passions ignite, this very eligible bachelor vows to show Phil he wants more than just hot sex.

Baby It's Cold Outside: At the stroke of midnight, trapped in diner by a snowstorm on New Year's Eve, Clint Barton finds himself holding Phil Coulson's baby boy. One night couldn't change a drifter into a family man... could it?

And a bonus Clint/Darcy, just because.

Game for Anything: A year ago, Clint Barton saved Darcy Lewis' life, and the sexy loner has been starring in her nightly fantasies ever since. But now Darcy's tired of dreaming. She needs to have Clint in her life, in her bed, so when she learns she's in danger - and that, once again, Clint is watching her every move - she decides to take what she wants. And poor Clint doesn't stand a chance... Clint isn't thrilled with his latest assignment. For a year he hasn't been able to get Darcy out of his head. But the spoiled princess is way out of his league. Still, guarding Darcy's delectable body has its perks, especially since she's quite willing to share it. So he's going to Plan B. He'll seduce her right out of his system. Only, the more games they play, the more he's hoping they'll end up tied.

Still being avoidant. Blah.

Have yall seen this preview for Lawless? I am so excited for this movie! Only because this is my home and my history. Yall knew my family was moonshiners, right? They used to run it, back in the day, but I may or may not know people who still make it on a regular basis. (Some of you may not have been here for this story, but our local history museum did a special exhibit on moonshine a few years back, and when we walked in, one of my kids was like "Oh! This still is just like the one behind Aunt Boobie's house!") Anywho, EXCITED!

It's apparently end-of-the-world movie weekend on cable. Deep Impact, 2012, Armageddon, Dawn of the Dead, Resident Evil, War of the Worlds, Independence Day.

So... where is the Avengers fic where they're facing an end-of-the-world or sci-fi worthy natural disaster that their unique powers can't actually defeat?

I was going to tell yall about the awesomely hilarious zombie apocalypse conversation that the boys and I had on the way home from dinner, but it was too much to type out. Let's just say, my kids are awesome. Instead, LINKS!

I accidentally came across this via Twitter, but I kinda love it: Written? Kitten! - for those times when you have trouble focusing on getting stuff written, you get rewarded for every 100 (or 200 or 500 or 1000, whatever you choose) words with a pic of a kitten! How cool is that?

I'm pretty sure this also came from Twitter: Colson Whitehead's How to Write

Things that I want but don't need AT ALL, including Retropolis T-shirts and geeky bras.

Speaking of things I want, I have a running list of possible fic prompts (usually from song lyrics, yall know me) and/or titles that don't have a home (seriously, this list has been building forever, waiting for the right fandom/character(s)/idea/inspiration). The most recent additions:
*"Their powers make them super; their choices make them human."
*The truth is you could slit my throat, And with my one last gasping breath I'd apologize for bleeding on your shirt.
*"I'm too sober for this shit." (which could really be the prompt to fit any and every pairing/fandom)
* No matter how many breaths that you took you still couldn't breathe
* This is the first song for your mixtape. It's short just like your temper, but somewhat golden like the afternoons we used to spend before you got too cool...
* Save me cause i’m falling, now i can’t seem to breathe right, Cause I keep runnin' from my heart.
* "We can't control the wind, but when it blows, we can turn our sails towards it."

There is a Multi-Fandom Olympics AU Ficathon, if anyone is interested.

FIC RECS!

If Heaven's Hypothetical by impertinence & shoemaster
Hockey RPF (which I still don't know, I read it like original fic)
Jeff runs away from Toronto and finds himself homeless in Raleigh, where he accidentally starts serving eggs to Eric Staal.

Pizza and a Movie by Closer (part of the Pizza-Verse)
Suits AU
In an alternate universe, Harvey's still a lawyer but Mike's not a pot runner -- he's a deliveryman for Rollo's Pizza and Ribs, which happens to be Harvey's favorite pizza place. Once Harvey finds out his pizza guy is a genius, Mike's life takes a few turns he would not have expected...

The Time to Find a Place to Land by BlackEyedGirl
Avengers
By Phil’s count, this is his third attempt at bringing the Avengers together, although he will admit his participation in the second attempt was more symbolic than anything else. He hadn’t expected Stark to be the easiest sell, or Barton to be the most problematic, but things have changed since he’s been away. [Movie spoilers.]

You know that feeling you get when you start reading a fic and you just know it's gonna be a favorite? Yeah, so that happened today. And it probably wasn't appropriate that I was reading it on my phone while standing in line while dropping monkeyface off at church camp, but I started it before we left here and wanted to finish it!

But yeah. If yall know me (and which fics are my all time favorites), then it won't surprise you that I loved this. So I'm sharing:

Won’t You Please (Leave Your Mark On Me) by [livejournal.com profile] torakowalski
Avengers || Phil Coulson/Clint Barton (past Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff) || NC-17 || 20,000 words
Clint really likes handcuffs; he’s just not sure how to tell Phil that. Which is a problem since they’ve been sleeping together for a few months now. Contains: a character experiencing subdrop and so description and discussions thereof, some non-consensual handcuffing (not in a sexual sense) and one non-negotiated scene. Also the following kinks: handcuffing, bondage tape, spanking, wax play and discussion of whipping, painplay and flogging.
Also on A03

So, so good. :)
